Well guys I got some good news and some bad news. I got the sled to move. But only for 40 ft and I started to spin. I got laughed at but I really didn't care cause I was the only one out there without four wheel drive and a transfer case. At the end of the day I didn't break anything and my...
Yeah I did take it all the way. I've been reading recently that I should turn it back from pump failure. I mean the truck runs fine now, so I kinda have been lazy and haven't gotten around to backing it down a bit.
Ok thanks guys. I mean its 20 bucks who really cares lol. Well I'll share my results when I get done tomorrow night. I just cranked the inj. pump all the way up and have my g-codes in. If I don't move it I'll sure make a smoke show!
Ok tommorrow is the county fair here in my hometown of Van Wert, OH. I told all my friends that I'll be pulling just for fun, but I'm really worried my truck won't even get the sled moving. My truck is a 1986 Supercab 6.9 Diesel 4spd 2wd with 3.55 gears open ended. It has pretty new firestone...
Yes I agree with you here, it takes me a few minutes just to put twenty dollars in or else it will end up all over the ground lol. It is like a clear plastic tube within that main black rubber filler neck.
Ok this morning before school I went out to go start my ole 6.9. And the engine temp light just lit up when I attempted to start it. But after turning the key a few times it decided it wanted to crank and fire up. The engine does not have any coolant or overheating problems with it, and it had...
I'm with you on that one. My dad has a 2001 Chevy 5.3 1500 4x4 and that truck screams and its stock. I mean its not a race car or anything but it never runs out of power even when were pulling our 20 ft. boat with it. The GM LS engines, you really can't beat.
So if I just bought some spring spacers, would this work without anyother modifications to the front suspension. Obiviosly I'll need a front end alignment done, but anything else?
So you still retain the factory springs? I don't want to buy a front lift kit for an F150 with springs because I know well that they will not support the weight of our diesel engines.
Ok I want to lift my 86 Ford F250. I have F350 leaf springs out back. But what can I do to lift it up front? Are there any companines offering lift springs for these? I just would like a 2 inch lift, nothing crazy because it is just a 2 wheel drive.
Ok I just got my bad T19 out of my truck which wouldn't go into reverse. And I have replaced it with a good used one. It is still waiting to go in just after I get the oil in it. Ok what Kind of oil do i need to use and how much? And is there any easier way of getting these trans out without...
Could I run one of these on my truck, I have removed the old original water sepator and I"m redoing my entire fuel system since rust won and I would like to mount one of these on my truck. Can I do this? Also I need to know how to remove the front brake calipers, its a dually if that heldps. My...
Ok thanks to you guys I've gotten my truck road worthy up to this point. But I got another problem. So when I tried to start my truck today I first woke up to a large puddle of coolant underneath it. And when I tried to start it, I heard a pinging like around the flywheel. So I took off the...
Now is there a diagram on how to do this because I do not know to to advance the timing on these engines? Like what bolts am I sapposed to loosen and such? Where exactly can I buy Power service Diesel Clean at?
Well I think I have ruled my IP as being worn out on my 6.9. In the local junkyard there is a f350 7.3 idi diesel that I have been snatching parts off for cheap. I was wondering since my IP is going bad would it be worth the 20 bucks to buy this used IP of a 7.3. I was thinking it would fit, but...
They are new along with completley redone heads with new freeze plugs about 2 years ago with around 10,000 miles. And the engine runs fine so I thinking it can't be the gasket. But this is not really a leak its like pouring out. Where is the oil cooler at? I think it might be that but I'm not sure?
OK guys I have a bad leak that looks that its comming the the rear of the engine. When I start my truck the coolant almost starts to pee out the coolant very quickly. The coolant is clean and not dirty. I put brand new coolant in it a week ago. I heard there is a oil cooler that could be causing...
Ok well I need to know how much coolant to buy for my truck. Because I want to flush mine out and put new in. And I'm also about to do my first oil change on it. How much oil is needed?
Then what is that ring sapposed to do then. Man I'm so stupid lol. I can't believe I pulled that thing right after it was running alright. I guess I can learn from that mistake.
Its fine. I'm just new to this diesel world and I kinda need every piece of help that I can find. I will surely do that though tomorrow and hopefully thats the only problem with it. So if this does work, what should I do about the white smoke that is present when it is running? I heard it could...
Hey thanks I will try that too. I'm sorry about all these new questions, but where exactly do you untighten the injectors from? And I still need to know about my other questions I asked about in my last post.
Ok thanks I will try that tomorrow as soon as I get home from school. But I also noticed that the truck was smoking white when it was running for those few minutes. It wasn't a really bold white color but you could tell it wasn't right. The heads and gaskets have been replaced not too long ago...
