Anyone have spare injector lines?
I'm going to build a bottle-jack injector tester, but need a spare injector line (I don't really want to use one off my truck). Does anyone have one laying around they'd part with for super-cheap? I really only need the injector end since I can weld the other end into a fitting on the pump...- Petes

Name that sound (knock, clack, clank, rattle??)
Neighbors 7.3L IDI with 5-speed is making an intermitant knocking noise. Tempting as it was to tell him it was a spun bearing and he should scrap his truck but let me have the 5-speed first, it just doesn't quite sound like terminal engine sounds, more like it's coming from the flywheel. Can a borescope get thru the pre-cup?
A friend offered to loan me a borescope (small diameter fiber optic flexable look-see noodle). I'm hoping to have a look at the piston tops in my 6.9 to see if a bit of glowplug is in there... and can maybe avoid pulling the heads just to see. Has anyone managed to get a borescope in an...- Petes

a bit rough, one weak hole and GP/hard starting
PO said he broke off glowplug tip in, tried blowing it out (cranking), but not sure whether it went in or out. He eventually started it up and thought it ran rough so parked it... three years ago. Sticking lifters?
Greetings all... I've searched the forums and can't find much info on lifters in a 6.9L... plenty about stuck valves (and the fun they can cause) but I'm trying to be optimistic here... My (new to me - 235k miles) '85 6.9L rattles quite a bit until it warms up - I'm pretty sure it's sticking...- Petes
