    Maybe "designed" was poor wording on my part. I don't totally understand the differences but I believe the gears are made differently in the zf vs the T19. Softer maybe? Like we have been told that it isn't good to shift the zf without the clutch.

    I have been told by a knowledgeable member that the gear roll over can wear the gears in the zf transmissions. Over time it wears the teeth of the gears to a thin razor edge that can break.     Regulator. Had a used one do that. Put a new one on and it solved it. Like $15 at O'reilly auto.

    I have tried believe me. If I could find the $$$ I'd give you what you're asking. If I get it before you make it here I will let you know. If I can make mine run half as good and get comparable mpg I'll be happy. I have been living with mine producing awful mpg so this one is nice to drive by...

    Won't start... Don't have a clue what I did wrong.

    Like said above, it can take a while to get all the air out. Loosen all the lines at the injectors. When you have fuel at the injectors tighten them up and it should start. Btdt. I had to learn the hard way. Tried forever it seemed to get it started and nothing. Finally loosened all the lines...

    filler neck mod question

    All I did on mine was remove the rollover and put a 1" pvc elbow in its place with a 1" hose up between the cab and bed with a co8uple elbows on it to keep water out. Works good. I'm not sure about whether the caps breath or not on these.

    Thanks guys. Like Gary said, once you are diagnosed with mesothelioma you know it's over. We all knew it was just a matter of time. Pat was the first of the six of my grandparents children to go and I think that is part why dad is taking it hard. Not that any death of a loved one is in any way...
