I almost forgot it has the auto tranny and he will be towing a 8,000lb 5th wheel. Will that tranny handle towing a trailer? Also I've been told the truck is bone stock.
Hey guys
My Father in-law was looking to buy a 7.3 but what he found was a 2003 6.0 with 105,000 miles on it. I'm not personaly familiar with this engine but have heard of some strange stuff. Should he be scared to buy this truck?
Thanks
The next thing on my "MUST DO LIST" is a tranny gauge. Are my only options for the location either in the return line or in the pan, or does my C6 have a port like the E40D for the sendor? I was getting ready to install one in the return line but then I heard a rumor that was not a good spot.
O.k. today I went and picked up a holley red pump, and will install it this weekend. Hopefully this will solve my no fuel problem.
Has anyone heard of a fairly new lift pump just stop working? I don't know what else it could be. I just hope this holley pump will get me running again.
I finally broke down and bought a new Hypermax intercooler. I finished installing it today, I jumped in fired it up, it ran for about two seconds and then died. I tried bleeding it at the fuel filter head with no luck. After several attempts with no fuel, I removed the filter and it was...
I know hypermax says 30% increase in horse power and 200 degree drop in egt's. If that was true I think it would do the trick. The question is are people really seeing those numbers???
Last year I installed a turbo thinking it was going to solve all my problems.
Don't get me wrong it does have alot more power. But I use my truck for mainly pulling a 6,000lb camp trailer, and every long grade I pull I have to do so half throttle because of the 1250 egt's. The question is...
Hey Brandon,
How does does the exhaust sound with the 5 inch pipe? Did you loose any of the high rpm cackle? Do you think it helped out your egt's? Where did you purchase your tailpipe? I would love see some video of how your exhaust sound. Oh by the way great job!!!
I just finished putting together my own version of many intakes I've seen on this site. In doing so I reused the old flexible ribed intake tube that use to connect the old air cleaner to the old snorkle. Was this OK to do, or will it give me any trouble? It seemed to easy I just wonder why I...
I went ahead and pulled the turbo off and punched the holes. I just knew that if I didn't do it I wouldn't sleep very good. And besides I figured it would be easier to work on new parts anyway. Thanks for your help.
Yes it's the pulse turbo, thier instructions say to punch three holes down through where the cdr went. I was reading Mels article, and in it he said he didn't punch the holes either. Hypermax instructions say this may or may not be a problem on a case by case basis???
I,m about 80% done with the instalation of my new hypermax turbo. I finally got both bolts in the down pipe -cuss , all the tuff stuff is over. I now realize I did not punch the holes in the valley pan. Do I need to undo every thing I just did and punch the holes, or will it drain ok without...
I don't have a body lift on my truck, so I assume I will have to mess with the firewall flange. From what I've read some people have an easier time with this than others. I'm hoping for the best.
I finally ordered a turbo kit from Hypermax. On thier site they say that the kit has been updated, and is now easier to intsall. They also claim that it should take around 5 hours to install. I was just wondering if either of these claims are true?
