So what did you do with your truck today?

Yes, for sure. choosing the lesser of the evils with the volkswagen for cheap and semi-readily available part. Would love a tank of a 300D Mercedes but I'd need two or three just as parts cars

So what did you do with your truck today?

Im not totally sure, but i cant imagine there is any kind of emissions system on this. I will probably straight pipe it anyway. Not my trailer unfortunately i borrowed it, but yes aluminum with tilt and a winch. Never loaded a vehicle so easily Another vehicle was on the short lift of "last...

rear brakes working a little TOO well now

it just occurred to me that i left the valve on the master when i pulled it, and the master is out of a 1997 f250 HD with SRW. I wonder if it's the wrong valve and i need to change it out from the dead master that was on the dually when i got it. anybody know if there are different proportioning...

rear brakes working a little TOO well now

So i have everything hooked up, and the old fluid was clean when i did the rears so I'm not automatically assuming the abs unit is toast. but the light is on on the dash and i cant really find too many write-ups about the abs system on these trucks. I'd like it to be operational but don't really...

rear brakes working a little TOO well now

I haven't looked into the proportioning valve yet, but will admit the master is salvaged from a parts truck and by all appearances and feel, seems normal

rear brakes working a little TOO well now

Did everything on the front brakes a few months ago, except the rotors. pads, calipers, hardware, rubber hoses. I have new rotors on the shelf now cause i bought them on closeout but the originals still were looking just fine. So I'm not sure if they are actually boned or my rears are just...

    1994 E-350 Bakes Problem

Sounds like a bad master cylinder. Cheap enough to replace or you could take it apart and clean it up and see if the seals are good or it's gunked up

First run of the scrap metal Po' Boy Centrifuge

It's been a decent amount of trial and error but I found out what works and got everything in working order enough to run 5 gallons through last night. I'm pretty excited and hope everything holds up well to the many hours I plan on running this. In the end, was it worth it to build a fuge vs...

Supply fuel line from fuel filter housing to injection pump

I'm pretty sure that the steel line fitting on the LP is an inverted flare and won't take a NPT barb without a lot of praying. maybe someone could shine light on a barb that has a straight thread and sits in the inverted flare.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Well yesterday, I hauled 2.5 tons of kiln bricks and shelves on the bed of the Chief. Honestly it handled it like a champ and didnt really even break a sweat. But today, I pulled the power steering pump off and rebuilt it to address a leaky body-reservoir oring. I had been dumping fluid on the...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Pulled out the steering gear to re seal the input shaft earlier this afternoon. It had been weeping for a few months and i had the gumption today. Went pretty smooth actually, I just left the high pressure line attached to the gear and pulled it down like that. Seals and snap rings went out and...

    Belt driven fuel pump discussion

6k+ miles oil update: Pump from seal started leaking decent amount so i pulled it apart and inspected it. everything looked great no wear on the pump gears or shafts/bearings. For longevity I replaced the front bearing, which i found at mcmaster. 11/16 OD 1/2 ID needle bearing. I also replaced...

7.3 idi fuel filter light but worse

consider that the fuel filter light is a vacuum activated switch. it turns on when your IP's internal transfer pump is pulling a negative space on the clean side of your fuel filter. in most cases indicating a clogged filter. but any other blockage or lift pump failure will cause it to light up...

    Belt driven fuel pump discussion

Im using greasecar.com 3 port valve bodies which use Hydraforce sv98-t39s 12v spool valves. On the switch to wvo, i hit the supply and the return at the same time. When purging, i hit the supply back to diesel then wait a mile or so then flip the return back to the diesel tank. If you're not...
