    New Mechanical Lift Pump...

Catbird- that is a very good idea and frankly makes a lot of sense with my issues. And it doesn't like to run less than a bit over 1/4 tank either, which I have heard can be the shower head.

    New Mechanical Lift Pump...

that is interesting. thank you all. BTW I do use a centrifuge, and while I am not paying crazy attention to viscosity, it is something I pay attention to. I have 3 diesels. 89 350 crew cab, an 89 250 extended cab, and a 90 GMC Suburban with a 91 Cummins in it. The 250 I do have a fuel...

    New Mechanical Lift Pump...

Greenie that is just what I am thinking. But are they all Chinese now? I don't want to end up just buying the same Chinese pump with a ford logo on the box.

    New Mechanical Lift Pump...

Franklin- these pumps died on regular pump diesel, not wmo. I mostly want a pump as good as the original, not trash. I have used electric pumps and was not super impressed. Clb- that was the $75 one I found. Is it actually better than the $30 pumps or just rebranded? Do you know?

    New Mechanical Lift Pump...

All, Preamble: I normally run WMO in my 7.3 IDI, but not in the cold weather, and I have not started using it this year yet. I do not like the idea of using an electric lift pump; I prefer all mechanical. I am not doing any performance stuff, just stock. My truck has about 130k on it...

    White Smoke Issue

More info. I called Cummins, and per my serial number, I should use Cummins injector kit 3802246RX. I believe that would be injector 3918965. That is what the nameplate says also. But they could not tell me what spray angle that was. I googled it and found a Bosch cross reference PDF. It seems...

    White Smoke Issue

I would agree about the compression. But if I had poor compression (or even just less than it should be) don't you think I would be getting some blowby?? that was my thought anyway and why I sort of ruled it out or the moment. But I could be wrong. My nephews have a 5.9 with the P7100 pump...

    White Smoke Issue

Ok, So I called the diesel shop i went to and they say that these are indeed 155 spray angle and that that is what they have been using for years in these trucks. They also said that it was the same as what I had before, which i am not so sure about. Dynomite Diesel says that everything sold...

    White Smoke Issue

That is exactly what I did. I replaced smoking injectors. I was even getting a miss. The old injectors also tested bad. The new ones cleared up the miss and it runs better than ever. Except it still smokes. And Yes from what I am learning looks like these have a 155 deg spray pattern. I...

    White Smoke Issue

Well I advanced the timing. Dont believe it made a difference in the smoke. I still need to get it warm though.

    White Smoke Issue

So, I am hearing on the Cummins Forum that marine injectors are bad... The part number of what I have is bosch 0432131837. What do you all say? Another thing. When I installed them, the engine idled slower. So I just adjusted the idle faster. But now I am thinking back on it, perhaps the new...

    1990 f250 7.3 idi , no fuel at injectors

I had a return line pop off once with my 7.3 IDI. I think it somehow drained away a lot of the fuel maybe? Anyway I could not get it to go at all, not even with starting fluid. I was on the verge of replacing the pump, but decided to give it one more go before I took it off. It fired up and...

    White Smoke Issue

Hello, This is my first post. I have looked a lot at these forums and finally decided to join. First let me tell you about the engine and then I will tell you about the problem. I have a 1990 Suburban with a 1991 Cummins 12 valve swap. It is intercooled and has the VE pump. (As I said...
