Any tips on 6.5 rebuild
sweet.... are those new heads? or did ya have a machine shop redo them? reason I'm asking cause alot of machine shops don't know that the 6.5 heads have to be set up correctly or you'll have nothing but problems!- nitrohogg

thats another topic I'm looking for advise on, If I want the most power I can get outta my 6.5 with all my other mods, whats the best I.P.? I was gonna keep runnin my original, but wondered if I should go with the mechanical? can I get all the fuel I want with mine and juice it up with the #9...- nitrohogg

some thing to keep in mind during your build, three of the best things you can do to a 6.5 diesel is make sure your radiator is clean and working properly, open up that exhaust and let it breath the coolest air it can.- nitrohogg

1999 suburban problems
99 with 39 rounds??? wow......first things first replace the fuel filter. and if ya can swing it, like crank says......lift pump, with that low of mileage I can see the fuel just eatin away at it........- nitrohogg

depending on what your gonna use the truck for, upgrading to stock 97 and newer cooling system is pretty much what these kits will do, the SS is the best price for the buck but I would check flea bay for used stuff, cheap. cept the water pump, prolly want a new one! unless your not feeling the...- nitrohogg

it's on the left frame rail at about the center of the vehicle...are you using homemade bio?? if you are you almost positively have water in your fuel... they say it should be drained every 5000 miles with normal fuel...- nitrohogg

1996 6.5 TD injector pump timing
prolly should update this, figured it out myself with the help of Mitchell's on demand and a tech2 scanner, put it where it was suppose to be and she ran like poop poo! then found out it had no reverse! hell, I'm into it this far... ripped out the tranny, cut off the soot trap in the process and...- nitrohogg

ran mine fer years with about 15-16 PSI max......then the head gasket on the pass front started sucking antifreeze into the cylinder, and then out the front of the head!!!- nitrohogg

GM diesel swap, 6.5L to 6.2L....
I had to do the same oil pan trick to a 6.2 transplant into a 97 flat bed car hauler, the truck already had a kentucky fried 6.2 in it of an unknown year, never checked! truck was a 6.5 electronic to begin with, but that was all gone, I put a 91 6.2 in it outta a 4X4 and had to cut up both pans...- nitrohogg

i got delco's in mine right now and she starts fine, 8 bucks each at O'Rielly's! SS diesel supply has some instant heat one's fer 70 bucks each!!! I don't live in Alaska though........- nitrohogg
