What this modified '85 does NOT have is the GPR resistor on it. My '83 has it, I think my '85 had it but it was totaled and parted out in '06.

Looks like you have tried several things but with a dead miss I would hook up a tiny 120v light and make a Noid light and watch how the injectors fire, if at all and in comparison to each other. Also, you can unplug each injector as it’s running and listen for any changes. Old school yes, but...
I am not sure about the T-case but I did install a a ZF5 from a '93 7.3 IDI into my '83 6.9 IDI truck. Both donor and recipient are 2 wheel drive. Same drive shaft I think??? I used a Clutch/pressure plate kit for a 7.3 and the flywheel was .600 thinner than the DMF and the hydraulic clutch rod...
They make the threads left handed so they don’t loosen up.
between me, my kids and other family members we have a LOT of these trucks and I have never seen a fan spin the opposite way and come off.
