    97+ Canopy on 89?

amazingly huge! we almost felt like we were stealing it at $400, keys and all - practically no use. obviously a custom job, aluminum skin and skeleton, looks like MIG with flux welded together - i'll forgive the manufacturer for that part, not using a shielding gas. haha score!

Truck ran great for 400+ miles yesterday and now won't start

Fuel/water seperator leak = air intrusion = all your fuel in the lines drips down to your tank. These are often just bypassed, they often leak. If you don't know how old the filter is, it's probably time to replace it. Crack all 8 fuel lines, crank until they all spit, tighten them up and it...

Truck ran great for 400+ miles yesterday and now won't start

Crack the lines and see if they're all spitting diesel, plug it in and see if that helps. Could be schmoo from the tank plugging something up? How recent is the fuel filter?

    97+ Canopy on 89?

Excuse me, I thought 97 the year changed. Specifically it's a 97 canopy. https://offerup.com/item/detail/499714909/ It seems like it will fit, which makes us happy campers!

    C6 deceleration down shift?

^ That's my thought, the C6 is a simple beast.

    97+ Canopy on 89?

Hey all, slightly off topic from diesel but I couldn't think where else to post. Does anyone know how well a 97+ canopy will fit on an OBS bed? I'm finding lots of tasty looking canopies for 97+, not so much for the 1970~-1996 beds. Tia!

    Franken 460 No Spark..?

Hey all, This is my neighbors truck. He's been through a rough slog - I'll spare the dissertation, but essentially everything is new, including coil, duraspark 2 and distributor. He wired in a cut and hack harness, and now gets no spark from the coil. I'm almost certain it's wired...

Troubleshooting - PS pump or steering box

^ Bravo. ATF over power steering fluid? Is that kosher? I don't know. I like the fancy ATFs more than power steering fluid, that's for sure.

    7.3 idi coolant issues

Another possibility, have you tested the coolant? How old is it? Never a bad time to flush the cooling system and recharge with fresh coolant and distilled water.

    Champion Radiators for the IDI

In my research I've found brass to be a better metal for cooling, but aluminum much more ductile, allowing more fins (= more cooling), in the end it comes down to R&D on the manufacturers part, which almost always translates to high quality aluminum radiators performing better than brass. YMMV.

    3G Alternator and V-Belt Misfortune

that's the wrong belt, it should sit much lower also if you're running a high capacity amp, you should consider a serpentine belt setup

6.9 idi knocking sound black smoke

30 psi on an IDI..? That sounds approximately 2x what the sane max, 33% over ludicrous max boost is. Black smoke is just extra EGTs. You may want to pull intake valley pan, rocker covers: inspect pushrods, and lifters. That's just my understanding, I'm interested what others say.

    Humming block heater?

On both of my IDIs, they hum when plugged in. I think you're good. More knowledgeable will chime in, I'm sure.

Sterling 10.25 threw up all over itself??

Cleaned the threads and threw on several drops of blue, then torqued to 125~ and pushed a bit more... hopefully not too tight, anyway. :) Cheers all! Up and going again!

Sterling 10.25 threw up all over itself??

I installed the new seal, torqued the bolt to around ~125ft/lbs, since it was loose I'm just guessing, and topped off the fluid... there's no drain plug, when we are moved I will get the rear end serviced. One more surprise tackled!

Sterling 10.25 threw up all over itself??

The pinion nut was completely loose! The seal wasn't even bad... pulled it, and glitter oil poured out - for frogs snacks. Putting a new seal in, changing the oil and limping it around until we can have a shop rebuild it. Thanks all for your input and help!

Sterling 10.25 threw up all over itself??

It actually appeared too short than too long, I had to move the carrier bearing forward to tighten the bolts. 85 f350 10.25, mounted into an 89 f250. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/72326/original/10.25inch-sf.jpg This told me it was the pinion seal. This tells me how to replace it...

Sterling 10.25 threw up all over itself??

89 f250, 1 ton swapped, drove around 100~ miles since swap, and upon feeling a huge vibration at freeway speed inspected underneath when we got home, and found this. I have a spare 10.25 sterling, can I just swap this seal out?

Bronco front coil spring swap? feasible?

^ that would be my thought. The diesel coils are quite stout.

7.3t Oil Leak, #7 Injector Return Line Won't Seal..?

I've used this successfully for years; occam's razor and deduction would tell me Wes has a great point, and the return lines are slightly (1/8"~) too long causing strain upon the caps creating an imperfect seal. I am going to replace the return lines and see if it leaks. A good friend of mine...

Hmm, where should I source a gasket for that? I have a cork oil pan gasket I could use. I'll PM you about price and etc. for the turbo, THANK YOU.
