Nothing was grounded though...I guess you misunderstood me. Both of those posts are hot. only the right one is hot when you crank the engine. They had burned ground wires... because they hooked a negative to one of the solenoid posts.
I bought a ground strap from the engine block to the cab. I only have low voltage heater and wipers.... headlights can be on and not cause any draw. when I turn on heater motor it causes a draw. It has to be cab grounding.
It is fixed. new alternator....but problem was all of the fusible links for glow plugs and ignitin were hooked to the positive side of solenoid lol!! Nothing was grounded.

I would put it in between cold air & intake. If you have blow by...it is easier to service. Just a suggestion that worked well for me in the past. Otherwise send it out. with an briggs & stratton or Tecumseh air cleaner attached at the end of the hose. I have had bad experience with them lifting...
