    Clutch Issues

Thanks for that. It's one more thing to check! I can't get under the truck to do anything myself, so I'll have to trust the trans shop...but they're very good and they tend to listen.

    Clutch Issues

That makes sense. I'll have it checked out when they pull the trans. I'd still like to know how a clutch goes into slip mode after only a bit over 20K miles, though. There has to be a reason, even if it's just a lousy junk clutch kit. Good parts are hard to find these days.

    Clutch Issues

Well, gentlemen, it's been quite a while since I felt the need to post a question here, but I just lurk and read a lot! My time has come... Truck is a 2002 F250 7.3 PSD with a ZF6 manual trans, not a 4x4. I purchased it pre-owned in January 2017 with about 204,000 miles on the odometer. About...

    Draining your oil...any opinions?

I took the plunge and bought one, so we'll see how it does at the next oil change. Thanks for all the input!

    Electrical issues.

Don't give up yet! You've got funds invested. Step back, regroup, think, analyze, and keep asking advice HERE. They're simple machines, nothing more, and man rules them! If man built it, man can fix it. I knew absolutely nothing about diesel engines or my particular truck four years ago. Thanks...

Agreed, but, if all else fails, I concur with thorough inspection of ground cables. You have the symptoms!

    Draining your oil...any opinions?

Just wondered if anyone has had experience with Fumoto drain valves. It's windy 99% of the time here, and that last 'trickle' of oil after the majority has drained wants to blow all over the driveway. Seems like one of these things and a short piece of tubing would stop that problem! Anybody...

    HPOP Fitting O-rings

Thank you, sir! In answer to your questions: Last year, the first instance of the problem, I used new fittings. This year, I just replaced the internal O-rings, which were visibly determined destroyed upon inspection, and the external O-rings upon reassembly. The point of leakage was instantly...

    HPOP Fitting O-rings

One year ago, almost to the day, I replaced the HPOP fittings & O-rings on my '02 F250. About a month ago, I left for work and got about 1/2 mile from home, and the truck started running like crap, almost seemed like it was fuel-starved. Limped back to the house, parked, drove another vehicle...

That issue was dealt with a while back, when I had problems with clutch hydraulics and a messed-up pedal and linkage (posted here, as I recall...). The fork measured out OK at that point. The thing that's really driving me nuts about this whole scenario is the 'intermittent' nature of the...

So, now we go clutch shopping! Sure are lots of vendors/choices/options out there...but I'm sure I'll find the 'perfect match' LOL! My Visa account is starting to love me! I appreciate all the help...and to show my thanks, I'll inject a bit of truck humor at the link...

Thanks...LUK is one I've seen mentioned a lot. I believe the last clutch hydraulic kit I bought was one of theirs. At this point, just collecting info, advice, and opinions!

With everything being said, it looks like it will be heading to a 'pro' for repairs. So....... Who is the favorite for clutch kits? Stock engine, stock trans, daily driver that occasionally pulls a 7000-pound travel trailer. There are quite a few to select from, from what I've seen in a short...

    Drive train experts...please step inside!

The advice is good, as usual! I now have a better understanding of what could be malfunctioning. This problem, more than likely, will be left up to someone with the shop, the tools, the lift, etc....my back doesn't like being underneath vehicles, and this one is my main mode of transportation. I...

There's nothing to video, sadly. It's a rumble, a vibration, that I can feel. It's reminiscent of a failed u-joint or carrier bearing, but stops completely when the clutch is disengaged or the trans is in neutral. My first reaction was 'u-joint', but that should be apparent any time the drive...

Don't know if it's the original clutch. I bought the truck with 214K on the odometer, and I have about 240K on it now. I guess the only way to know for sure is to have someone tear it apart and inspect stuff. I really don't understand the terminology, though. I've seen 'dual mass' flywheels...

I wish it was that simple. There's not much for specialty shops in this little spot on the map! If I could travel and wait, I guess I could head to the 'big city'. I'm 4 hours West of Phoenix, 5 hours East of LA, and 2 hours south of Vegas. I'm really hoping that it's something as simple as a...

Crazy problem. My 2002 F250 Powerstroke with ZF6 tranny is experiencing a "vibration" or "rumble" at low RPMs. Seems to be most noticeable between 1000-1500 RPM, and is directly associated with RPM, as opposed to speed. Also seems to be worse when not under load, such as after a downshift or...

    Intermittent cruise control

Sorry it took a while to reply, I've been preoccupied with other stuff! Yes, it was the switch, damned Rube Goldberg arrangement that it is. It's a pair of switches, actually, consisting of a common contact and two make/break contacts actuated by a sliding sort of 'bridge' contact, if you will...

What is a 97 PSD with 15 foot box truck worth?
