Found the wires to ipr bare and shorting at times and icp leaking oil.
Repaired the ipr wires temporarily and cleaned the icp plug, "both pig tails are ordered. Replaced the icp sensor with a new style I found sometime back at a salvage yard and all is good.
I replaced the icp sensor from the...
When I changed the coolant tank I wiggled the harness around and made sure everything was tight on the FICM.
Once finished I went to start it and it wouldn't start.
Wiggled the harness around again especially one section that goes down past the driver side back of engine.
Then it started.
Once...
Checked the MAP hose, bottom clamp was off but didn't seem loose, installed the clamp.
Looked towards the FICM, the coolant tank was cracked and coolant has been leaking on to the FICM, had s tank so I replaced it.
I've tried wiggling the wiring harness and can't seem to make it act up by doing...
2003 F250 Crew Cab 4x4
225,000 miles
All original the best I can tell
This truck is new to me... had it about 5,000 miles.
Sometimes it runs perfect.
Sometimes it has a steady miss at highway speed when "lugging" if so, I can give it fuel and down shift and it will stop missing until it up...
Someone gave me a 6pos chip.
Not sure of the year tho...
I installed it and it started..
1 stock
2 high idle
3 better performance more boost
4 black smoke
5 lots of black smoke
Shifts different, seems soft...
Is this ok to run?
I found my ICP was loose and leaking oil.
I removed it, cleaned everything, removed the orange deteriorated o ring and replaced it with a green A/C o ring which was handy. 2 days later it's leaking again. Was tight but oring was damaged/blown out.
Is there a specific oring that can be purchased...
I have been having trouble with this truck cutting out at 2500 rpm.
Now I have a severe oil or fuel leak at the from of the engine, it appears to be coming from somewhere near the HPOP. It looks like oil...
Now, I ran the heck out of it on the way home and no cutting out, ran up to 3000 rpm...
I only have 2 wires going to the regulator. Both are light green/red.
One lights my test light up very bright, the other very dim.
Probably a bad wire?

I had a buddy give me a chip, does anyone have any experience with these?
Also, is there any way to know for sure its for my truck?

The old 2 stroke EMD's do not require oil changes, just routine filter changes.
They burn so much oil there is no point to change it.
The 4 stroke GE's get oil changes with the same oil.

I work at the railroad....
Nobody knows exactly what the oil is...
They say it's a premium "Diesel oil"
I do believe it is a sae 40.

Growing up in Arkansas, I only seen folks using Rotella 15w40.
The records on this truck show the previous owner used Mobil One 5w40 or Lubromoly? 10w40.
Looks like 3000 mile intervals.
