Here is a short vid of my 83. 8' fisher conventional plow. With my sander and a yard of sand, this truck is a bulldozer.

Here's a vid of the 83 late last Winter. It's in my garage getting a new frame and paint job right now. Salt sucks.

Thanks for the input.
I'm 2 inches from canceling and calling hypermax.
I could use some friendly customer service. I'll post pics whenever I get a kit for this beast.
I bought one for my 6.9 on November 6th. Still haven't got it. I called them and they say they are waiting for a part.
They took my money, but keep telling me it will ship early next week.:dunno
After all this time I have been thinking about the Hypermax and wondered what people have to say...
I can take my engine out with a cherry picker without removing the hood. It was tricky, but I can do it.
It is way faster and easier to remove the engine and change out HG's.
I put new head gaskets on a year ago, used Napa Permatorque. Runs fine, no oil in coolant or coolant in the oil. No white smoke at all. It starts right up when I turn the key, cold or hot. It started boiling over after running for about 5-10 minutes.
I put a 16 lb cap on it, and as a backup...
I went to the dakside too. I just plowed 33 accounts with my IDI Monday and Tuesday. Just after reassembling the 6.9 on Friday. That 6.9 is a brute pushing snow.
I then drove the PSD around to rake roofs and shovel walks. I have a minute mount plow, but it isn't on the truck yet. Can't wait to...
I thought that might be what was happening, seems to be right in the middle of the engine housing. It's pretty annoying.
I did notice the temp gauge never gets above the first "Normal" line. Could/would this have anything to do with the EBPV, I didn't find anything about it in the search...
I just bought this 95 with a 5spd manual. Just curious to know what that hissing type sound is when I'm planed out at a steady speed.
It also kind of stumbles when I come to a stop.
IPR dirty?
Jd, it is the stock gp system. And that has always worked fine. For what I know of that system.
I replaced the controller 2 years ago, don't know the life expectation of these, but it better be more than that. :)
Putting the Beru's back in and going with it.
I will be putting the head back on...
I have always used diehard golds in my trucks. I just put 2 new ones in a couple of weeks ago and it made that beast wind over real quick.
My tool chests are 99% craftsman, love getting replacements after I wear them out, shows I did something.
I think the Sears Wishbook from 78' is still...
That will be my mantra for sure.
Aside from the schrapnel in the piston making noise, I would have let it go.
I did buy another plowtruck in the meantime.
Now I have 2 diesels to contend and compare. :)
