    02 7.3psd won't crank over!!!

Well it did to me again yesterday but I absolutely had to be at a customers house so I jumped off the relay wire and it hasnt done it again after that. I found that I have one 850cca battery and one 450cca? Could that be the problem? None of the splices are on the relay wire and I can feel the...

    02 7.3psd won't crank over!!!

Well I somehow got it to start. I traced the wire from the starter all the way back to the fuse panel under the dash and no breaks. I noticed a couple of splices where the previous owner had told me he wired and switch to start the truck that I have since taken out. I moved those out of the way...

    02 7.3psd won't crank over!!!

Hey guys I need some help! I've looked through all the forums and looked at everything they have said. Ive checked my starter relay and it is clicking when I turn the key. I've checked my neutral safety switch and cleaned the connector on it. It is aligned and doesnt seem to be any problems...

    Fuel Problem

Yes I lined them up straight I believe I will check it again tomorrow just to be certain. I cracked the injectors one at a time to bleed them and kept doing that until all the air bubbles were gone. It just doesnt seem like the IP is pushing hard enough to get fuel through the injectors. Could I...

    Fuel Problem

No I removed the IP from the gear and housing. The housing stayed on the engine and I installed the back the same way. I read to not remove the housing and I didn't want to make things any harder

    Fuel Problem

I have also done the Seafoam treatment in hopes something was just clogged up and no luck.

    Fuel Problem

Okay so I have installed another IP that I got for free on the truck and I am getting fuel to the injectors but it is still not firing off. Is there anyway I can tell if the pump is just to weak or the injectors are not allowing fuel through. I have 8 brand new motorcraft glow plugs and all of...

    Fuel Problem

There are 5 or so 7.3 idi out at the salvage and couple of recent additions. The guy only wants $50 for an IP. Should give that a shot before I shell out $300 or more for an IP. I definitely replace it this summer with a brand new when I have more income from my landscaping.

    Fuel Problem

The question I have though is I took the top of it off last night to look at the FSS and look inside the IP for any bits of sludge or anything that is not supposed to be there. The black plastic of the FSS looks like its been scratched up and the metal inside of the IP looks rusted. Would that...

    Fuel Problem

Thanks for the advice Riotwarrior. To my knowledge hasn't ran in at least 2 years and probably has actually been longer then that. Im just being inpatient cause I'm used to hooking the engine up and it runs but this is my first diesel. I have a good 150amp booster/starter. I would much have the...

    Fuel Problem

Yes I took the return line of the top of the IP and it was a getting a good steady stream of fuel. The FSS does click off and on when I unplug it and plug it back in. I'm having one of my friends thats a diesel mechanic look at the IP today to see if it has gone bad. I'm just about ready to go a...

    Fuel Problem

Yes it has power to it. I was hoping that was the problem so I checked that and the other connections and they all have the correct voltage. The IP was a little loose where it bolts to the timing gear cover. I was wondering if that could affect it not running? I'm trying everything I can before...

    Fuel Problem

The pump was bad it what I mean by that. Sorry for the confusion there. I installed the electric pump and got fuel to the IP but now I am not getting fuel to the injectors. I believe the lines may be clogged up because I have no idea how long the engine was sitting, but I haven't had a chance to...

    Fuel Problem

Alright that helps. I pulled the pump today and found it was toast so I took it back and got an electric fuel pump. I'm going to put it on tonight when I get back. Hopefully that'll solve the problem

    Fuel Problem

My father and I installed the new pump ourselves because the old one was broken when it was pulled out of another truck. I decided I didn't feel lile waiting so I'm going out to take the fuel pump off and make sure it is installed correctly. Thanks for that OLDBULL8 I had just read that in...

    Fuel Problem

I screwed the hose clamp as tight as I could get it without breaking it so I believe it is tight. I then did what you said and cut the hose to where the gas tank was directly under the fuel pump and it would pick the diesel to the top of the tank and then it would go back down. It never got...

    Fuel Problem

Sorry my bad I have a new mechanical fuel pump and I pulled stock fuel lines from a truck at a salvage yard. I blew them out before I put them on so they were clear of any debris. I have some clear vinyl hose that I hooked up to the the mechanical fuel pump where the incoming fuel line from the...

    Fuel Problem

I have checked the fuel lines and they don't seem crushed anywhere and the fuel level is probably below that so I'll check that tomorrow. I'm talking about the line coming into the fuel pump from the fuel tank selector. Actually I bought the truck with the engine out. The person said he bought...

    Fuel Problem

I have a 94 f250 that originally had the powerstroke and the person I bought it from had put the 7.3 idi in it. I have wired it up and it turns over fine but I'm not getting fuel to the engine. I've taken the incoming fuel line to the fuel pump off and put it directly into a gas tank and it...
