    7.3 Dies Returning to Idle

Went out to start it this afternoon and cranked and cranked and no start, ran the batts low. Charged both batteries, and still wouldn't start. Let the Carrier pump run for a few minutes and it fired right up. Runs better than it ever has (since I bought it). Original issue of crapping...

    7.3 Dies Returning to Idle

Filter is almost new (half tank through it). Dropped filter, drained, poured ATF in outer holes, reinstalled, ran truck for 1 minute. Never heard it change sound, but shut it off and will let it sit till tomorrow.

    7.3 Dies Returning to Idle

Truck starts good, idles good, and runs good. It will die every time I let off the throttle. It does it in gear moving, it does it sitting in the yard in neutral. It only happens when its warm. Last year I added a Carrier electric fuel pump and replaced the injector return parts. All...

    Building Custom Trailer Hitch

I thought it was going to be right. Check out this link from Etrailer, guy asks the same question and the professional answered that its 5.62" from the frame flange to the BOTTOM of the receiver. http://www.etrailer.com/question-52460.html I knew that had to be wrong. Thanks for...

    Building Custom Trailer Hitch

Could someone who has purchased the Curt 15300 hitch linked above (amazon) measure the distance from the frame to the TOP of the receiver for me? I just installed a flat bed and the bottom of the integrated bumper is 5" below the frame flange the hitch would bolt to. Would love to find out...

What signs to look for to determine actual miles?

Don't get me wrong, this truck has been USED, bed shows the age, a few dents here and there etc. I bought it assuming it had 189k and it looked good for that assumption. Still the best $2500 I have spent on a vehicle regardless of mileage. Alaska is not kind to work trucks... No harness...

What signs to look for to determine actual miles?

I am all about this. Is more like a curiosity and what to expect in the future. Carfax shows the truck was bought in Alaska, one owner, no shop work, registered in Kentucky for 3 months, returned to Alaska, and sold in 2013. Not much to go on. IP and injectors are still grey. Pedals show no...

What signs to look for to determine actual miles?

I bought a 1988 F-250 7.3 IDI last fall and love the truck. Odometer says ~89,000 miles. I bought it from a guy who only owned it for a few months and knew no history. He bought it from the original owner. What would you look for to determine if this is 89k, 189k or 289k miles...

Front Parking Brake Cable - New one is not the same as the old?

Every manufacturer I can find shows the cable with the same smaller grommet. Wagner, ACDelco, Bendix, Raybestos. I found an out of date Ebay auction for a Ford OEM cable that had the larger grommet.

Front Parking Brake Cable - New one is not the same as the old?

I purchased a new front parking brake cable and what I was given is listed as correct for my truck. The factory cable I pulled out had a larger rubber 'Grommet" on it that pressed into the hole in the floor/firewall. The smaller rubber grommet on the new cable just passes right through the...
