    6.9 IDI block bellhousing pattern?

The 4 speed bells and ZF front case half are the same casting as 460 pieces, just drilled differently. I cannot speak for the autos, never had them side by side to compare.

    Building an IDI for Nitrous

I think tuning for afr is going to be very difficult with a fixed rate of nitrous as you don't have direct control of the fuel rate, it is always at the mercy of the pump governor. This is where turbocharging shines as drive pressure is directly related to fuel rate, and therefore boost...

    Building an IDI for Nitrous

Nitrous in a diesel is not like a gas engine, it is an oxidizer only, it just adds more air, you aren't going to get the massive, hard hitting power gain you get on a gas engine with a wet system that adds fuel as well. No need to worry about ring end gaps.

    front driveline up grade recommendations

These trucks have a 1330 CV, not 1350 like a Super Duty. The issue I have ran into when running a single joint with some lift is crossmember clearance, or lack thereof.

Differences between cab & chassis vs pickup

38" and 3" springs says bed delete pickup to me.

Differences between cab & chassis vs pickup

Being a 250, the truck was probably sold bed delete, a cab and chassis by default is a dually F350 at minimum, the frame narrows at the back of the cab, and the rear springs are 2 1/4" wide.

Crazy idea for D44HD TTB 4x4 conversion (feel free to hit me if I'm off the wall)

I was meaning 44HD stubs with 44 inners. The 44HD TTB uses standard 44 joints. Unfortunatley there doesn't seem to be anything other than the Chevy 3/4 ton setup when it comes to a bolt on 8 lug brake setup. I believe I may have ran across a bolt on Wilwood or similar caliper for them years ago...

Crazy idea for D44HD TTB 4x4 conversion (feel free to hit me if I'm off the wall)

Now that I'm not sleep deprived due to my wonderful new puppy, you will have to stick with 44 components or have custom inner shafts made. The differential on the 150 is roughly 2" further outboard than the 250/350, that is how they have room for the lower ride height. This also means that the...

    F700 cab

Those welds on the floorpan do look odd, you might have an upfitter built cab, like Centurion did when they built their crew cab F150's, they literally cut apart a reg cab and welded on the required parts to make it a crew. The only hand laid welds in my 96 crew are where the b-pillars meet...

Crazy idea for D44HD TTB 4x4 conversion (feel free to hit me if I'm off the wall)

Both pivots are closer to the center of the truck and dropped farther on the leaf sprung TTB. If I had your truck, I would be using the F150 beams, as they bolt in your 2wd chassis, and the coils ride much better. The hiccup of course is keeping the nice big Ford brakes. The go fast off road...

    GP's Wellman vs Bosch testing

I put the current set of 6.9 style wellman dual coils in my 6.9 in 2008, I had one fail on the first set that I put in in 06 in the at the time 1 year warranty period, and they replaced it no issue. The replacement set was due to leaving the truck at a friends place with a pushbutton in -20 for...

    zf5 swap no start

I used a harness from a 94 M5OD F150 on my 96 PSD rig which I got already manual swapped, with the MLPS ziptied to the crossmember... lol I had to move some pins around in the plug on the harness side to match the truck wiring, I think one start circuit and one reverse light one, but it was...

    zf5 swap no start

You need to jump the wires in the trans harness. The starter signal runs through the mlps on the E4OD. On manual trans trucks the transmission sub harness has the jumper built in. The column has nothing to do with the gear position switch.

    idi vs psd question

A 7.3 with a chip can have response just like a 6.9, stock programming will not allow so much as a hint of smoke, and gives very little timing advance at low rpm and off of boost. Both of these make the engine seem to be very turbo dependent. However, the IDI's higher compression will always...

Saving summer oil during winter season?

Based on your useage you would probably see great benefit in a 3G alternator swap, the better output at low rpm would probably greatly improve battery recovery. As for storing your used summer oil for re-use, there is no reason you couldn't. Personally I am long past running different oils, my...

    Brick nose group 31 question

The big gain with group 31's besides longetivity is not so much cranking amps, but reserve capacity, there is a very significant jump from a group 65 to a 31. Enough that my IDI truck does not even have a drivers side tray installed,I have never ran duals in it, and as some of you know I deal...

    Brick nose group 31 question

Cat batteries are great, especially their group 31's. As for holddowns, if you can find them stock 86 and older ones work great with no mods.

    3g alternator with V belt?

You can grind the front of the case, or put a thin washer behind the pulley, either way works. I did the washer on my 460 truck with no issues.

    RSK trac bar location....

The S/D's do indeed have a track bar from the factory. The one on my 00 was long gone due to a broken axle side bracket with no ill effects. I run a rear mounted shackle with v codes in my wheeling rig with no track bar, and it drives as well as something on large interco tires can.

ZF S5-42 Creeping in Neutral, Hard in Reverse?

Sounds to me like the gearset is shimmed too tight. This is for sure not a clutch issue. What was your final bearing clearance setting?

    1250 degrees

Most big rigs run post turbo pyros. Steady egt's of 1200-1500 are not uncommon with modern emissions engines. Melted exhaust housings on turbos are not uncommon, but melted pistons are. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

    Glow plugs

Sometimes when the plugs die they short to ground, and will fool the test light. With only a 28a draw you have some dead ones. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

All of the parts you see in the picture are readily available. Typ4 has the majority of them minus the A3K parts, that was a test run for Racin.

why you can throw stupid power easily at a cummins and have to work at a IDI......

Yes, even a VE engine with just a set of injectors and a turbo upgrade can put down 400+ with ease. My stock as far as I know other than IP adjustments and 3200 spring 92 has put down 307/702 on the rollers, tuned to run clean as it is absolutely out of turbo, and still has a stock exhaust, just...
