Is a gasser trans case the same as a diesel case

My 727 trans has that inspection plate...it's missing, and yes I know it's a 727. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk

    AAM 11.5 Rear?

I used an ORU cover for a GM11.5AAM on my Dodge 11.5AAM...it didn't fit perfect, but it worked well for a lot of miles. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    AAM 11.5 Rear?

There are still clutch in there that gets squeezed...I used Royal Purple and immediately had chatter...two bottles of Ford modified later and I was good for 200k more miles... Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    AAM 11.5 Rear?

    AAM 11.5 Rear?

04 would have been a 11.5aam with the HO or 10.5aam with the SO...04.5 was the intro of the 325hp "600" 5.9l and they all got 11.5aam. 3.73 and 4.10 were both options as was the limited slip...and while the LSD didn't require LSD addirive, sometimes it was necessary to resolve chatter. Late...

    Dynatrac parts

I have a batch of spare Dynatrac parts from when I had had my 04.5 Dodge. Essentially everything to rebuild one side except the spindle and lockout hub. All Dynatrac-supplied parts...spindle bearing and seal, 35-spline stub shaft, wheel bearings and seal, and the ujoint shims. About $300 in...

    Best Tuner for MPG

Smarty, or more specifically a SmartyJR, that's about the best programmer for a Cummins.

6.0 L Gas Engine in the newer GM 3/4 ton pickups, powerful???

I've got a 2012 6.0L, 6spd auto, and 3.73s. It struggled a little in the narrow mountainous back roads when I got a load of firewood (about 6500#s including the trailer) a few weeks back, but it did the job. Once on the bigger roads where you had momentum it did fine, on the interstate it...

lift pump not a warranty item?

They go back and forth on this all the time...I think the main reason they hesitate to warranty lift pumps is the fact that the replacement pump is in fact completely different...not like-for-like parts. They did replace the lift pumps under the 10/100 engine warranty for a while, then...

    MPG Gain's

Do you have one of these? I've been on the fence about buying an intake manifold, and this one is very tempting.

    MPG Gain's

Three times...fourth coming up for a failed spindle bearing.

    MPG Gain's

BTW, the amount of $$ your spending would buy a lot of fuel...it all depends on how long you intend to keep the rig. If you're one who changes rigs every couple years, you will never see the return on your investment.

    MPG Gain's

Nope, once you add a programmer, the overhead (which wasn't accurate to begin with) is even less reliable. Hand calculating is the only real way to get even close. I have the DynaTrac kit that is similar to the SpynTec, been installed since 05 and currently has just shy of 200k on it...

Need Help - I think I'm getting screwed

Personally, I think its got more problems than just injectors... 179k, of unknown use (or abuse) is going to show wear on the CRD injectors...he has provided no history of the truck that would make me believe otherwise. And further, he had no codes initially; which typically happens with...

    Lookin at a truck

Is it a 2004 or 2004.5? Look at the valve cover to see if it is 305HP or 325HP. I got 4.10s and 6spd in a 2004.5...if you drive sensibly, you can routinely get 20mpg (but this means driving 60mph, not 75mph).

Need Help - I think I'm getting screwed

Typically injectors "wear" at the same rate...if you have been replacing multiple injectors, then you probably will end up replacing them all before done. I would have suggested finding a local shop that specializes in diesels, and having your injectors rebuilt.

    Guessing time...

But they still have a common rail? Nevertheless, I'm 99% sure its a failing injector...

    Guessing time...

No, there is a no start at times...and while driving down the road, it will start blowing smoke bad (white) and running poorly, and then clear up and run fine. I've pretty much narrowed it to a injector hanging open. It wont start when it hangs open because it can't build rail pressure and it...

Not my truck, and that's all I can tell you...it is completely stock as far as I know.

    Guessing time...

What would cause a no-start issue and white smoke driving down the road, yet clear up and run absolutely normal other times?? I have a guess its a failing injector solenoid, but I'm not a Ford guy...but it acts suspiciously like a failing injector in a CR Cummins... This is a 6.0L PS...

    Adding atf to diesel fuel

Probably not harmful in a mechanical injector, and the low-pressure system; but in a modern HPCR like the Cummins or the later PS, I wouldn't want to take the chance.

    Adding atf to diesel fuel

Amalgamated is a manufacturer/blender of diesel fuel additives...they will actually custom blend the additive for your requirements (lubrication, cleaners, antigels, etc) the only problem is that you can only buy bulk...I want to remember 5-gallons at a time, and while the cost isn't bad...

    Fuel Mileage - Be Honest

There are a lot of factors that contribute to mileage...I have hand calculated anything from a low of 9mpg to a high of 26mpg in my empty 2500 (2004.5, 4wd, 4.10s, NV5600). I typically see between 18 and 20 mpg...but I'm not breaking any land speed records to do it either. Towing, I'm between...
