    Turbo IDI Project Truck available

Understood. So priced because I just don't have the time to rebuild it. & it'd be a shame to send 2 complete Turbo IDI's to salvage with a titled truck. TIDI parts gettin scarce... I know me, If I get into it, my perfectionist self would have me into it waay too deep. Lol And I've already...

Trucks & sporty cars should all have manual shift trans, IMO. That's the one thing I wish I could change in my new to me service truck, that damn fagomatic it came with! It was a fire rescue in it's former life, that's ALL those came with. I keep dreamin for a 13speed.. Lol

    Lift pump question.

I did the same thing on my 5.9 freightliner. Tossed the inaccessable failure prone oe pump for the Fass pump, frame mounted closer to the fuel tank, & w/ a primary spin on f/f h2o separator, keeping the oe secondary canister filter. Except I wired using the factory harness, I wouldn't want it...

Burning up fuel shut off solenoids.

I agree w/ both. You are correct about the pull in vs the hold in solenoid operation. Keeping the pull in energized will burn it out. And the cca wire is junk, don't believe anyone that says otherwise. Bunch of them liars on ebay...

Burning up fuel shut off solenoids.

Run a temp power jumper, them things just work... & like it was said earlier, the fuel cools it. Maybe even start it w/ cover off to verify fuel up there.

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

I jus noticed ur list of rides, I've been ridin my 76 shovel since 81. Coarse thanks to gettin wrecked a few times, she's nowhere near stock or original. Went to 84" dual plug after the last, even sprung for Chris Cruz graphics...

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

Yea, that's why i've never been big on recommending extending the mfg recommended change intervals. Rarely does the analysis be kept up with it. I recall a while back, the brown truck fleet for their tractors, tried out a system where they had a big luberfiner 750 size/style canister behind the...

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

As you no doubt know, if one is to run extended oil & filter change intervals, it is imperative to do oil analysis. Where as if one does regular change intervals, & jus changes the bypass filter every other change, engine life increases due to better filtering.

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

I still maintain that the turbo idi's were one of the best powerplants to be put into a 1 ton. They just got a bad rap due to being introduced at the wrong time, so to say. And many didn't know about the detuning that was done at the time, so easily fixable. Even the weak link, the e4od can...

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

A second remotely mounted spin on that filters much smaller microns. As opposed to a full-flow, it just takes a percentage of the flow out of the stream at a time to do it's filtering. As time goes on, it eventually gets all the oil & most importantly so much more of the carbon, soot &...

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

If I was gonna go that far, i'd jus sleeve for a 7.3 turbo engine. Build it right & maintain it right w/ the sca'a & synthetic erl after breakin, one wouldn't have anything to worry about. That's what I was gonna do... Make it reliable, long lasting & strong. An oil bypass filter will keep...

    7.3 IDI wont start

Those engines need to spin, trust your gut. & keep the charger hooked up while you're messin w/ it. Notice you didn't mention the glow plugs? Those are also needed for starting. Better check them if you haven't.

ISO 7.3 IDI or TIDI Block.

I'd kinda like to see the whole bundle go... 94 f-350 drove in w/ a bearing rap- truck still complete, was gonna pull it & roll a set of bearings in it to resell, jus don't have the time. too many other projects on the list. spare turbo idi & a bunch of spare parts go w/ it. Clean title. $1000...
