7.3 idi increase in miliage wmo?

Difference from pure diesel to pure WMO and anything in between was barely noticeable. 1990 CCDRW 7.3

    Gas caps

They wash away, I promise. On my little benz's it's easy to get the cap on wrong. The fuel tank is up in the trunk, higher than most vehicles, and when the tank is more than 3/4 full and the cap is not on correctly it will dump gobs of fuel out on every corner. I left a large wide streak from my...

    Gas caps

that looks like my truck every time I fill up, seems i'm too cheap to buy an automatic nozzle, and can't ever be at the pump the exact moment it runs over.

    New Filter!

yeah, you could back feed a 480 to 240 transformer. From my experience with inverter drives, it MAY balk, we had some units that when the TVA plant would run the switch gear many many miles away the inductance shift would trip every conveyer drive in the plant off. EVERY morning at 628 AM...

    New Filter!

If it were my pump, I would simply wire it for 690V, and feed it with 480V. That's 30% undervoltaged, but at that small of a HP, heat shouldn't be an issue.

    New Filter!

If you spend a few dollar more on the inverter, the output voltage can be set, running it at 20% over voltage would be a lot worse than running it undervoltaged, IF you can't find one with a non settable voltage. What in the world is the motor wound for such a non standard voltage? is the...

    New Filter!

A while back in a random search I found inverter drivers for 70 bucks, I cannot relocate that source as of yet though.

    New Filter!

Don't replace the motor, if it's sub 3HP, you can get an inverter drive to run it cheaper than you can find the replacement single phase motor, AND with the inverter you can vary the speed.

Water heater element to heat WMO

Time I chimed in here, been quiet on the board cause I'm busy.... I have never heated with anything BUT water elements. I started out in a 5gal bucket with a 1200W heater dangling from an extension cord into the bucket. I keep saying I'm rebuilding my entire system, but I have literally done...

    Help with centrifuge basics

I really don't see the problem with doing so, carbon can be suspended very finely in oil so you'll never get it all out, hence the "little less each time". A fuge cannot mechanically separate a chemical compound, all it can reduce is emulsions/suspensions. So you'll never alter the chemical...

Picked this up monday,(the one in front)

Good ole "Darkie" on the trailer and that's the new "Little Blue" up front. Joking, I told the kids we were gonna name it little blue, but they protested because my little mail truck is also blue and they say it has to be little blue. My kids like to name all of our cars, they get creative. The...

    Help with centrifuge basics

http://www.endmemo.com/bio/grpm.php That link will help determine the amount of force exerted. http://www.simplecentrifuge.com/gseconds.cfm That link will calculate g seconds, which is the real value at work in centrifuges cleaning any fluid.

    Help with centrifuge basics

Well, the fuge could be inverted, the amount of real gravity vs centripetal force is so slight it would take a microscope to see the difference. What's the bowl diameter, what's the rpm? Are you splash feeding, or have a feed tube/cone? The 1/16" could mean a very large variance in actual...

Dead in the water for several months...

Brad, Little red has a lot of issues that reared their ugly heads after I bought it, little blue looks entirely horrible due to a right front dear strike, and also being beat all to hell on the mail rt. All suspension components on both benz's are completely shot. Little red's drivers ball joint...

The engine no and yes, it's a compatible bolt pattern, but it needs a few electronics to operate correctly it's a OM606 essentially the same engine with an upgraded electronic P-Pump, it's still mechanical, but has some electronic control as well. The trans, I have no idea. I know the trans from...

Dead in the water for several months...

Yeah, the plugs were working, but the controller went haywire and burnt them all out. Been scouring CL for a week or two, but the only two trucks I'm finding are extended cabs vs Crew cabs, but I did find one Jewel, that is "Still Available" I sent the guy an email through the CL relay since...

Dead in the water for several months...

Little blue is dead, or practically dead. I think I cracked a ring or two one cold morning, got a little too heavy on the ether heard a loud cracking noise from preignition of the ether, lost compression severely in a matter of a few days on two to three cylinders. Crankcase lube consumption...

    WMO for dummies

One of these days, one of these days. My home made centrifuge has it's bearings, housing, bucket and shaft all completed, all it's waiting on now is is the drive motor pulley, and drive motor, which I already have, just need to modify and me to assemble ALL those pcs into a working motor driven...

    W80: keeping it mixed

I put an intake screen on my pump after having to do the same thing multiple times. Some pesky birds were building a nest right over top of the mixing drum. They have since been dispatched.

what % of wmo is safe?

Thats a relative question. I run 100 percent in the summer. In the winter I cut 100 percent in the tank down to about 50% or when I get irritated or too slow at making fuel I run D2 constantly, and with the promised price of 250 a gallon in a month or so I may quit running wmo altogether lol...

    old turpentine oil?

Yeah, I think linseed would be a nightmare in the fuel system if you didn't run it out the same day and then immediately refill with D2.

    smoke on idle

It's my opinion, it's not vapor lock, but I have NO CLUE, about any part of the design in that vehicle you mention, I was unaware of it's mere existence before you told what type of vehicle it is. Pure gasoline has to get pretty darn hot at 100 percent to cause vapor locking, and it typically...

    smoke on idle

I have found that using diesel as the cutting agent reduced my smoke drastically. Compared to RUG. For my Mercedes, 25% is the sweet spot, for my truck it doesn't matter, i't gonna smoke like it's on fire no matter what fuel it is on. I don't know what your fuel prices are doing over there...

    smoke on idle

Some folks advance the timing, I don't know that their smoke decreases, but they do claim better economy and easier starts. but I don't think you'll get the diesel knock back because no matter the timing, the shock wave is less intense because of the burn rate, not because of the injection...
