Patience pays off! Haha. I think I had two bites on Craigslist, and zero on ebay, and zero on here (until they finally sold). It's a tough market for them, you just have to happen to catch someone at the right time. Good luck with the sale!
They were brand new, never even got to use them :( I still have the 97 powerstroke in my picture, but it's for sale, dirt cheap to the first person with cash But no one around here seems to want a project. Even for $3500! Guess i never thought to advertise it on here. I hate craigslist so...
Alright so i'm ordering up all the parts i need all at once...along with the main stuff the gauges aren't working. The two i absolutely want to get going before putting it together and test driving it around are the pyro and engine temp. The pyro is ALL over the place. Just turn the key to on...
thanks guy, good information there. And i thought so. I know i've swapped em before on my jeeps back in the day...given it's different cases, and you never do know what one Company is going to do compared to the next. I never did like slip yokes when i was jeepn, they had a tendency of causing...
how would i go about figuring out which TC i need? junkyard has option of 1356 or 4407, measure the rear ujoint thats still on there or....is there a simpler answer since it's 40 below outside lol
That was what i was thinking too. I doubt it has much oil left, i haven't checked. the hole is about 1/2 way up the case. Lucky for me we have two trucks at the yard in town with what in eed
hey before i go about on test drives and such.....Before i bought the truck the u joint blew on the front driveshaft and wacked a hole in the transfer case...Is it safe to drive around like that? I'm not sure how the internals work on the TC and if it would seize up on me or not like that..obv i...
lol yup been there done that. i'm actually curious if other shifters from other trucks fit. I've seen a few others with the same type of flat stock with two holes in it at the bottom just like ours, i'm tempted to take apart my s10 and see lol
The upper lever/shaft.
I rednecked it up to get it around to get a feel for what the truck needed before i parked it to shop for parts:
It did the job lol
Any market for this here? Not sure if I want to get rid of it but would like $200 out of it. Used on a 97 7.3, not sure what else these things fit. Works, comes with everything.
I haven't done anything to it yet, waiting on some cash then going to order my list all at once and give it hell. Grand total so far is about 291 for everything plus fluids :)
brake pedal is not firm, if going 45mph to a stop...it starts as if it's gonna be firm for a split second or two then fades to the floor. quickly.
290,000 miles, master looks factory imo.
Maybe i'll actually like this truck when it stops like it should, and shifts like it should hahaha. I need to order up a cam sensor too, threw a code last night after starting funny. seems easy enough to get to.
Thanks! Also, I noticed if I hold my foot on the brake and start the truck, once it starts up and is running, it quickly fades to the floor board. If that helps point it to something in particular. I'm going to shoot for the master on both the clutch and brake and see what happens from there.
Please do if you have a moment. And what I learned over the years, just because something isn't the MAIN problem, doesn't mean it's not contributing to the problem.
