    E4OD experts please chime in

The FIPL should be adjusted so your digital voltmeter reads a max of 1.2 volts at closed throttle. I personally have mine set at 1.18 volts and the trucks shifts slightly less harshly than at the 1.2 volt setting. The volts you read at WOT should around 4 volts, but you can't control the WOT...

    TC, flex plate, transmission?

If the flexplate has cracked beyond the crank bolts, you should be able to see that from the engine side with the inspection cover removed. I recently had the cover off on my truck. It takes only a few minutes and is three 7/16" bolts IIRC. I have to replace the flexplate on my truck very soon...

    Rest of Ole’ Moldy

When you get ready to paint, and if you can swing the cost, take a look at this stuff: http://monstaliner.com/ I have sprayed the cap and door jambs on my truck with this stuff using an undercoating gun (in my driveway) and it works great!

    Need comprehensive E4od advice.

Yep - same one I have and it works fine!

    Need comprehensive E4od advice.

While I can't type out the the entire "how does the E4OD do its thing" explanation, I can say that the torque converters that Ford put in the 7.3's from the factory were not up to the job, and many problems stem for the factory TC failing. The E4OD can have other issues too, so the best thing to...

    Spotted...

The Facet Duralift is a rugged and very reliable pump and seldom fails. I am sure it works great on the small displacement refer engines that it was designed for. It doesn't have enough flow for our engines. Now, if Facet made a Duralift with about 90gph flow rate and 3/8" npt fittings, I would...

Loose column SHIFTER even w/ tightening bolts and replacing bushings - SOLVED

There are a couple of little 3/8" square, gray rubber bushings in the column by the shift lever - did you replace those? I replaced the ones in the column of my truck about 8 years ago and that helped.

On the fence about tires (yep, another tire thread)

I am going to need new tires on my F350 before winter. I am kind of diggin' these: https://www.simpletire.com/mastercraft-lt255-85r16-90000025793-tires I have these now and they are awesome in the snow and ice: https://www.simpletire.com/cooper-lt235-85r16-90000022188-tires

    Found some factory discontinued parts

Here is another possible source for discontinued OEM parts for our trucks. You have to have the part number to search though. https://www.vpartsinc.com/about-us.html

    Carrier/facet pump observations

So I know this is really overkill for our fuel system, but other than cost, why isn't anybody running one of these pumps, especially you guys with the big IP's and intercooled turbos? https://airdogliftpumps.com/product/airdog-r1sbu369-raptor-pump-universal-100gph/ Yeah, it is expensive, but...

Yeah, I explained my set up in my initial email.

    Carrier/facet pump observations

Below is the response from Purolator regarding the pump. I have to give them credit for responding quickly, but the response doesn't solve anything for me. I guess maybe I throw the pump on Ebay and try to recoup at least some of my expense. Of course, I could take the pump apart and see what I...

    Carrier/facet pump observations

I have thought about this too. While I have not had the 40290 pump all the way apart (still under warranty) I did have the top "barrel" (the hex shaped thing on top in which I think the piston sits). There is an o-ring seal down in that bore, and the o-ring on this pump was flattened out - as if...

    Carrier/facet pump observations

I finally got the regulator set to 7 psi at idle. I would then have about 5-6 psi at general cruising down flat road. However, the performance of this pump seems to have deteriorated, and heavy throttle on hill will now peg the fuel pressure gauge to zero, but the restricted filter light never...

    Front Cab Mounts

I am glad you are getting your truck repaired! As Catbird said, there are lots of places that have these sheet metal parts, so hopefully your shop guy can find some and get you back on the road soon!

    Carrier/facet pump observations

Thanks, Wes (and bbjordan too). I understand the reasoning to having the regulator after the filter. I still have the hard line connecting the outlet of the filter head to the inlet of the IP, so I was avoiding re-engineering that while I continue testing the 40290 pump. I will do a little more...

    Carrier/facet pump observations

Well, I have the output from the Facet connected to the port marked "IN" on the side of the regulator. I have a hose connected from the port on the opposite side of the regulator which is marked "OUT" and that hose then runs to the inlet on the factory filter head. I have the port on the bottom...

    Carrier/facet pump observations

I installed the regulator over the weekend. I also received my electric fuel pressure gauge back from Autometer with a note stating the gauge has passed all tests and is working properly -Huh! I think the Holley regulator is set at 7psi at the factory, and with the Facet pump running through the...

Well that is simple enough! Thanks - never would have thought of doing it that way!

    Carrier/facet pump observations

Thanks, Wes. The next question is: being as this is a return style regulator and will need a return line to the tank, can I tee into the return line just behind the engine, or will that place too much of a burden on the 5/16" return line and back things up? Everybody-you see how this is...

    Carrier/facet pump observations

Thanks for the suggestions, Wes - any recommendations on which one? I was going to install a Holley regulator, but these do not appear to be rated for diesel.

    Carrier/facet pump observations

I agree - those of you who are towing heavy and have modified IP's should be wary and further testing for your situations is probably in order. I was trying to convey the fact that I just don't tow heavy very often, like maybe once or twice a year when I rent some equipment like a skid steer or...

    Carrier/facet pump observations

Well, gentleman, it is what it is. I decided to try one of the 40290 pumps for my own information to see if it might perform a bit better than the 40222 pump that I already have in my truck. I thought I would share the results of what I found, in case others were curious about this pump. As part...
