This is my first truck running 1 ton's, all my other truck's were half ton's running 44in tires.
I hear people say you cant do that but me and other's I know have had very little problem. So far the 1 ton's are holding up fine with the 54's. Thank's
The truck should sit level with that kit, I've never bought a lift kit that let the frontend sag.
BTW- I've bought two 4in rough country lift kit's in the past.
Yea, the hole wasnt bad enough for the front to be locked in although I did run it thru in 4 wheel. Some local's play in there on the weekend's so I thought I might dig it out a little.:sly
I used to run the street and mud bog's with 44 boggers, 44 tsl's, and 44 gumbo's all on 1/2 ton axles and broke 1 axle when I dumped the clutch on the street. I've heard it said the 1/2 ton's wont hold up but they did fine and I dont doubt that the 1 ton's will hold up fine also. Anyway it's...
Ididriver- The gears are 5;13 with detroit lockers in both ends.
Alienturtle- The truck was already painted when I got it, I called the old owner to ask about the color but he couldnt remember what it was called. I think gun metal gray would be close.
Simp5782- I had a set of 1600x20 goodyear at's, those tires are almost twice the weight of the bogger's. The boggers are costly but they pull great in the mud. As for mpg, that's why I have a different vehicle for my dd.:sly
Ididriver- Thank's, the truck has 20 inches of lift...
I had the front and rear welded on a truck with 44's, the only thing I didnt like was that the rear tires wore out much quicker because I drove it every day to work.
This is a pic of the truck I have now, 1987 F250 on 47in ltb's
Nice lookin truck, if I was to guess I'd say you had about 8 inches of lift judgeing by how much the fenders are cut.
Those 44 monster mudders do a good job in the mud, Ive had 2 set's in the past. Keep the pic's coming.
