Before and after crew/brick....Body and paint.

Truck looks great! :hail Put me on the list if it's headed down the road. Seriously, I've been wanting a crew cab like that forever! Is it a 5 speed or Auto? And that Torino!

Oil cooler is done with Pics & Video

Wow! I I had no idea Victor reinz made a set of oil cooler o-rings. That part number should be added to the parts bin. The dealership wanted to charge me $70 plus for ford o-rings.

What is this plastic piece and why is it wet?

2 Orings? Shoot, I just replaced the 1 oring that seals the plug to the filter head, and it worked for a while, then started leaking again! Where is the second o-ring?

    craigs list find

Anyone know if that's an automatic kit or not? I've got a 7.3 with a zf5 that this kit would look real nice on. *And if it is, could the automatic kit be made to work with a manual-transmission truck(I'm guessing the difference is in up-pipe routing?)

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

Update: The New FSV did the trick, and now the truck runs tops! Between the new IP, Injectors, glow plugs, and Facet lift pump I can't believe how smooth the truck starts and runs! I still need to get it dynamically timed, but what a difference. What remains is a quart per 400 miles oil...

    1989 ford idi redone

Like the wheels. Where did you get them? Are those tires 285's?

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

Boy oh boy. I sure hope my new valve lasts a little longer than that. I honestly didn't know they had such a short lifespan. If this new FSV takes a shit, I will be running manual valves.

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

Well, knock on wood, I've secured a $154 OEM one, which I like a whole lot better than $320. If this falls through, autozone it is.

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

Another quick update: The F4TZ-9189A part number is all but gone. I called 5 different dealers and managed to buy one from Bob Allen Ford in Overland Park, KS, but it looks like the gold-plated 6C3Z9189A is the only offering from ford.

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

An update on the great parts search: My part seems to be the FSV with solenoids, as opposed to the older syle. I went to the local ford dealer and gave them the E7TB-9F271-AA part number. It is obsolete, and has been updated a few times. F4TZ-9189A is still in the system, and retails for...

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Engine stalls.

+1. When I first bought my truck it did the same thing; a hefty dose of Diesel Kleen in the tank and Mercon ATF in the fuel filter cleared out whatever gunk had been clogging the metering valve.

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

Is there a way to clean them out? When I had the lift pump off, I ran low pressure air back through the lines, and could hear the air going into both tanks.

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

I'd consider manual valves as well. How did you set that up, and what parts did you use?

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

I recently replaced most of my fuel system. The injection pump had been failing (no hot starts unless you have a cold damp rag to cool it), and I decided to replace the injectors and lift pump, as well as fuel filter o-ring(was leaking). A few months ago I took off the bed and replace my...

    Is my idle normal?

Fan Clutch? The bearing on mine went bad and it shook like hell, especially when warm(when it would engage). I had overlooked it for quite a while until I was working on something else and noticed the missing ball bearings and destroyed bearing cage.

    Poppa Got New Shoes

flareside_thun, did you lift the truck or use add-a-leafs at all, or did those 315's fit with the stock suspension?

    Chassis Fuel line replacement

While replacing my injectors, IP, Lift Pump, Glow Plugs, and Filter housing O-ring today, I noticed that the steel line to the lift pump is severely kinked, in addition to not lining up with any of the plastic tabs which hold it in place on the engine crossmember. Would it be o.k. to replace...

Truck Started not Starting Right Away..

Did the check valve solve your starting problem, Silver Burner? I've got what I believe to be the same issue. BTW, nice truck! I love those Crew cab f350 4x4s.

Just got mine. Pretty clean for its age. I LOVE the 5 speed.

    this truck look familiar?

I think Kwilliams moved to Santa Rosa, and bought an Excursion. That truck looks to me (from the grainy photos) like it may have a Dana 60 in it, and didn't his have Dana 50 TTB? Either way, seller got the year wrong by a couple, and I don't see any training wheels on it.

    Back in an IDI

Found what I think are the correct International part numbers in the parts bin: ***International Part Numbers*** Oil Cooler thicker ring 1804414C1 Oil Cooler thinner ring 1807563C1 And, I also found Diesel Crawler's tech article and Warden's page which plainly illustrate the 2 vs. 3 ring...

    Back in an IDI

Thanks for the info, Warden. If you can find those ford part number, I'd be very appreciative. The schematic Hansel Ford printed out showed the earlier O-ring configuration. It never ceases to amaze me, I've been a member(lurker mostly) for quite a while and picked up a ton of information on...

    Back in an IDI

I haven't had the truck below 1/4 tank to "test" whether or not my pickups are broken, but those will be addressed with the replacement of the senders. And I love the fact that my truck is an XL; manual locks, windows, transmission, and Vinyl floors. I would like to upgrade the tires (to...
