    Lift pump

    The fuel pressure should be checked at WOT. The minimum should be a test gauge to check it. A permanent gauge is a hell of a lot cheaper than a VP-44. On the EZ,I'd check the connectors.I ran into that some time back. Would also run the ground to the battery if it isn't already.

    CHarlan,probably better off going with the cable,easier on the wallet and does the same thing. I/H mechanical 466s use this. Most of the ones that I run across,the plunger/spring gets rusted /breaks and falls out. Tried fixing them before, didn't last too long.

    Friend of mine has a 2000-2001 7.3 that I'm going to wind up servicing for him. Is there a list of approved oil/fuel filters that Ford recommends? How much oil is used for the oil change? Thanks for any info.

    Could be the load proportioning valve on the rear axle acting up. If your truck has this on it,may be worth looking into.

    Tires, how many miles you getting?

    Had around 28k on my stock Michelins and couldn't take it anymore. Sliding in the rain,sucked in snow. Think mine came with the cheaper Michelins,had the 's' pattern on the tread. Got Dayton Timberline A/Ts...so far so good. Happy with them so far.
