Whats the differance between a cheap and an expensive billet torque converters?
Thanks for pointing out that i could wind up with a single disk billet torque converter. Hadn't thought to ask about that. I just assumed :dunno he would put in a triple disk because it makes since to me but i will have to call him tomorrow and make sure what converter he's talking about.- finitetime

Thanks. Any advice on what to look for a truck pulling a 8000lbs trailer. I'm having my trans rebuilt. Already getting a heavy duty clutch pack, pump upgraded, Transgo Shift kit and a billet torque converter. All this is what the guy at the transmission shop suggested. Title says it all. Can someone tell me the difference between a $500 billet torque converter and a $1000 billet torque converter? I got a remanufactured e4od in mine and it shifts too hard for my taste. It shifts harder than any auto I've ever seen almost in limp mode. injector kit..... what are these?
They are the washers that go on the hard lines that run from the Injector pump to the injectors. It's a good Idea to change them but it's not like you cant go back and do it later.- finitetime

Gotta few questions.
Most of us time it by doing the best we can do. Timing meters are expensive for these trucks so most of us time it by ear. Read up on some of timing threads.- finitetime

fuel filter bs!
You need strap wrench. I have had some really bad filters over the years put on by people who don't know how to put filters on and it has been a good investment for me. I have this one and you can but a good size socket wrench in it and just crush a filter with it until something gives...- finitetime

All good advise. As for getting a used power stroke . Your already dealing with a used engine and the one you have is way simpler and way cheaper to work on than a power stroke.- finitetime

As long as you don't go looking for factory you can get generic for about $35 at the parts store so it isn't that bad. There's probably a few people on here that will sell you a factory one. I might have one...- finitetime

Fuel Problem
The fuel shut off solenoid could be getting power and it still be bad. It will click and you should be able to here it if someone else turns the key on and you listen to the pump.- finitetime

Unless the lines (assuming your talking about injector lines) were removed from the truck I don't think they would be clogged. And I would bet money that even if they were laying on ground for years that not all of them would be plugged so bad that they couldn't push a little fuel through them...- finitetime

Fuel Problem
Make sure it has a tight connection where the fuel goes into the pump or it could be sucking air instead. I would disconnect the other side of the pump actually and just see if it will lift fuel pump it through the pump. a can, hose, and pump will eliminate everything but the pump. Not...- finitetime

Sounds like a bad fuel pump. If you've take a straight hose that has no kinks or blockages and run it into a tank of fuel. You don't say if its one on the truck or a separate one on the ground? And your cant pump fuel with it then you need a pump. Cut a small length of hose and run it to a...- finitetime
