It had to been somthing up with that double cardan joint that I replaced. It only happened when I put it in 4x4 with this new rebuilt axle. I have had it out a few times and havent had any problems like that since that day when it was new. I hope that it never comes back!. now 2000 miles...- Electromag

your kidding right??? The seal needs to slide on the spindle, thats why you should oil it there (Between the spindle and the seal) I think locktight would have the opposite effect as it is a glue.. But your just kidding right???- Electromag

Its gotta be the seal, or your inner bearing is welded to the spindle. If its the seal, then there should be a little wiggle. If I remember right I think it was in my shop manual that they showed a wheel puller in use to pull the hub. Yesterday, it took some arm strong pulling to get one side...- Electromag

I have the shop manual, but this is new to me. Looks like axle must be pulled and the wheel will need to be dis-assembled to look for this oil slinger, then you might as well replace the seal. Is this a seal up grade for leaky seals? I found this on the seal...- Electromag
