With my new ip my cold idle is only 800 rpm. I'd like to bring it up to 1100 were it used to be.
There isn't really any room to slide to bracket forward from the looks of it.
Is there anyway to adjust the solenoid arm to go out more?
I know the supply line is 3/8.
Does anyone know what the return is that runs back to the tank? My best guess is 5 / 16.
Bypassing my fsv since i think it has some junk in it causing fuel starvation at higher rpms.
Has anyone ever had a problem with dud mechanical fuel pumps.
Everything is good on my lines, and everything no leaks.
Fuel filter lights comes on so there is too much suction on the IP side post fuel filter and it starts the run rough.
Good news is the truck runs like a top otherwise...
My injectors are grey international color under the air cleaner. Not sure how i missed that.
Unless they were rebuilt at some point they have 347,000 miles on them. I have all the maintenance records for the truck since 2001. 250,000 miles worth of records. Nothing about injectors.
I replaced my fuel pump thinking that was the problem. Fuel filter is only 2 months old. Truck runs a little than just dies chuggs.
Fuel shutoff solonoied? Ip is only 3 years old.
Seems to run fine in the morning and my entire way to college this morning.
Can anyone get a picture of the hood hinges on these trucks. Long story short my hood flew up, while i was a few yards from the exit :(. Girls friend was in a rush to get to class so i didn't pull over. Had to undo the spiral thing on the passenger side to get it to close on the side of the...
How the heck do you get the block drains out. It seems pretty hard to get to them. I have my 1/4"npt petcocks, and 4 gallons of 100% mix fleetcharge precharged antifreeze. I was gonna dump to whole thing but i looked where the drains are and i said no way am i getting them out. I've had this...
On my 90 idi the battery light is on. Voltage output seems find according the gauge ~14.5. Never have any dead battery issues. I actually left the lights on for 4 hours. Truck still started fine, and on the 2 hour ride home it charged the batteries back up again just fine. What should i be...
Just brought home my 1990 2wd f250 e4od 7.3idi home. Some good stuff. The frame is solid, some factory paint in some spots. Rebuild jasper transmission 170,000 miles ago with an additional trans cooler. 3.55 gears and i got about 20mpg on my way home and i wasn't even trying. Got repair records...
Anybody have any idea of what the factory turbo for the idis where. I know it is a garret but, what model. I'm trying to get a baseline, or even a turbo to use. I plan on building a custom turbo system eventually.:sly
Well I've been torn over this issues. Since i'll be getting my 7.3 idi in a week or so i need to make sure its protected. I'm stuck on what coolant to run. Right now my choices are to run low silicate green antifreeze and check additives every other oil change. My other choice is to run a oat...
Just scored a 2wd 1990 f250 diesel for $400. Runs, drives, currently registered, and on the road. Should be getting it in a couple weeks. Can't wait! Was used to haul the owners horse untill now. She just got a 2001 7.3 and is moving soon and doesn't want to hold onto two trucks. Did ask about...
I have decided not to buy a idi truck as if have two trucks right now, and intill my mom moves somewhere else or i get my own place to put my crap i have plenty. Anyway... I have instead decided to swap in either a 7.3 or 6.9 diesel into my 83' 2wd f250. Right now it has a half way torn apart...
What would cause an idi to start and run for 5 minutes and shut off. Also how would i go about testing for cavitation? Sca test strips? It is a 7.3. Any other things i should look out for besides the common ford stuff. I already have another f250 so i know those issues.
