    Lookin at a truck

Glad you like your rig. I love mine. Just about to turn 99K and it is still doing really well. Can't ask for anymore out of it. Scotty

Been gone for a long time, just stopped by to see what's new..

Scott brings up a good point. I could always put his Truck and Trailer behind the Raptor (kinda like a TOAD vehicle). That way we could split the fuel for the trip! HA. I think the Dodge could handle them!

Well, I will have to look up the info. I am moving up to Northern Va in July, so between going to the SNCO Advanced Course and some other schools after I return and moving up to Va in July I have a pretty open schedule! I have always wanted to attend one of the Rally's and would have if my old...

Been gone for a long time, just stopped by to see what's new..

It is 40ft and the last time I rolled across the scales I weighed 25,173lb combined. It is usually not that heavy, but I had 4 quads and all the waste water tanks were full and I had everything under the sun loaded in the trailer since it was raining and nobody wanted to pack their things in...

Thanks for the HBD. I won't get home until Mar-Apr. How is everything going? You got the RV stored up for the winter? I cannot wait to get home and break mine out for another trip. Scotty

No problem, thats what we do. I am on number 7 right now! Either way, hope you are guys are having a good year. I still read from time to time, so keep it up. I always like to read your stuff and the rv.net stuff. Man, I must be getting older. Scotty

Hey, I just wanted to say hello too. I am deployed alot these days and when I am not deployed I am training somewhere else. I am deployed right now to Afghanistan, so I read alot more here than while I am home. But I still think about the IDI's here and there. The Dodge is doing well for me...

    What power!

I think the majority of the guys with 6.7 are pretty happy with them. Some of them are complaining about having to get latest flash on their 2007.5s but most of the guys with 08s seem to be fairing a lot better. I don't think we can even compare it to the 6.0. Plus. Just the nature of having a...

    Locker rear end

How has it worked in the snow for you? They were a decent unit for the price in Jeeps.. Wished they had something a little more positive for the 11.5AAM.. Scotty

2005 Cummins 5.9L CR (Power vs: MPG)

I would think you are at about the most efficient state you are going to get. If you are getting 24MPG that is awesome.. I can't think of anything that would do more for, than what you have already done. Scotty

    What power!

I can't imagine a better heavy pulling combo than the Cummins and 6 Speed manual. Now, saying that, the guys with the new 6 speed auto and Cummins seem to be raving about them and I really thinnk the new auto has breathed new life into the Cummins, that is all the truck have been lacking for...

Changing tranny and rear diff fluids

I went with Mobil One 75/140 for the rear and 75/90 for the front and Castrol Synthetic ATF+4 for the tranny and transfer case, not sure what tranny you have, so I can't really say. Scotty

    New truck

I have the Quadzilla Commander with the Xzillaraider II.. Don't really use the X2 much but the commander has full gauges and works really well. I agree with Mike, pull with the truck before you add anything, they pull very well stock. I would change stuff like the shocks, tires and things...

    The Oilburners hall of shame

I will add another, Diesel Tune in Downey, California. The main guy seemed like a knowledgeable guy, but after having him do the headgaskets and having them spewing coolant by the time I got 50 miles to my house. Their work was crap. When I took it back and asked them to fix it, they claimed...

    What power!

I can't keep my wife outta the truck. She likes it more than any other vehicle I have owned, plus, she pulled my 20ft trailer with quads a few times with no troubles (through WV). Scotty

    Gear Ratio's

Hey, I would get the diesel just because. Heck, once you get the truck, you can always find something you want to tow. I think it makes great sense to buy a diesel. There isn't hardly a 1/2ton truck out there that will get better mileage, or have the capability of a good diesel truck. Also...

    What power!

That is great, I am not sure what my recent mileage is, but when I left in January it was always right around 20mpg. After I started hitting that every tank, I started to quit worrying about it. It ends up being over 700+ miles every tank. Now, I have a 5th wheel toy hauler, and it weighs...

    What power!

How do you like your truck so far, got 18000 on mine and mileage is banging about 20MPG every tank if I do my part. Couldn't ask for a more powerful, fuel efficient truck if I built it myself. Scotty

GV in a crew cab 4x4???

I had the same small vibration on my 87 CC 4x4. Wasn't very bad, but it was there. Scotty

    New Crewcab

Nice truck. The power of the new trucks is pretty addicting. They are so strong from the factory and get pretty good fuel mileage right off the bat, it is pretty hard to start messing with stuff. Scotty

    Old Rig is Running AGAIN

Hey, just wanted to drop you guys a line and let you know the old rig is up and running again, with a rebuilt 7.3 in it. My cousin ended up stumbling across a guy who rebuilt his engine for his truck then somehow the truck was destroyed so he sold the newly rebuilt 7.3 to my cousin for 1000...
