Now I am getting confused. I have the entire glow plug and pump harness from the 92 still on the 7.3 motor. Are you saying disect the harness and graft it to the 86 starting system and pump wiring? I really not sure if thats in my relm. I dont even own a schematic.
I have all the wiring for the 86. I looked it over and planned on using 7.3 glow plug wiring spliced into the 6.9 harness. That way I can use the bullet connectored plugs. I liked the push button I did in my 85 and it worked just fine. I was just trying to use that solid state deal since it was...
I just swapped a 7.3 from a 92 into my 86 F350. The truck was robbed of its relays etc before I got it so I need to figure out the best way to get some control on the glow plugs. The 7.3 has the harness and controller still on it, but I have no clue how to hook it up. Or would this be better off...
I will have to keep the egt's in mind. I have a turbo set that I will be installing in a few weeks when I get all the seals etc. I am hesitant to put it on without gauges. They are on the want list just after more cash. Is a 50/50 mix to thick to run on the stock lift pump you think? Its not...
I did up my first batch of waste Hydralic oil today. It was dry as I service the machine it came out of. In any case I mixed 60 gallons of diesel to 55 of the hydralic filtered it twice threw a 10 m and a 2M filter head. Filled up the back tank and went out. after switching tanks about a mile...
I think I found some generic gaskets on ebay. I did a search for t03 turbos and found several parts that will work. If I get a chance though I will call ATS as I want some new orings. A parts and number chart would be great if anyone has it.
I just scored a ats waste gate setup today. Its in overall good shape but I need some parts. When the guy took it off the truck he unbolted the exhaust elbow for some reason so I need that gasket as well as the gasket where it meets the manifold. ATS does not list parts on there sight. Any help...
I would not trade the tank for the timing set. That tank cost almost 800 bucks about a year ago. I am up in sweet home, the guy you bought your truck from is a friend of mine. I helped him get the 5 speed in it to. Its a tough old truck. Also, I work down in coburg so if you get a timing set you...
mine is so bad that it turns my motor off if it flops to much. Every tilt i have seen so far in the yards is like that. Im looking for a not tilt myself
well I cleaned up the area real good and will have to keep a eye ball on it. I checked all the hoses and connections and nothing looked suspect. When I did find coolant there was some on thestarter but also some coming out of that little drain on the bell housing. So if there are soft plugs back...
I had not driven my truck in 3 days. This morning I came out and was just crawling around it checking it out. I noticed a small amount of coolant was dripping off the starter and off the bottom of the bell housing. I cleaned it all off and ran the truck around for a few miles and nothing showed...
I have always over filled my motors by a quart with ATF just before a oil change. Just let it idle that way for about 15 minutes then drain. Was told that it will help clean them out so.. But I would not run it without oil. I think diesel would ruin the bearings at the least.
Just ordered a set of motorcrafts from Rock auto. The question is when they are installed are you supposed to burn them once or twice before a first start. To break them in? I know it sounds kinda dumb, but a mechanic at my work told it will make them last longer. That being said, if true how...
My 85 F250 is running the stock 6.9. I added a new injection pump and injectors from Oregon diesel. It runs really strong for having 120,000 miles on it. The stock exhaust is in decent shape except the muffler is starting to rot out on the bottom. Would there be a noticable increase in power if...
Well I got it done. I settled on twelve gauge wire. Probably to heavy but better then to light. The install was alot easier then I expected. While I had the dash tore apart to put in the switch, I cut the wire for the glow plug light and spliced it to the switch so it lights up when pushed...
Sounds simple enough. Almost like one of those remote starter switches you use to bump over the engine. I picked up a push button at napa and its rated for 15 amp. Is that enough? Also is it ok to run a fused wire off the battery? Also what would be the correct gauge wire to use? If I am gonna...
I can almost screw up installing a brake light bulb. How difficult is it to wire in a push button? Putting in a trailer light socket is my skill level.
