Still in the IDI World for a Short While Longer

Finally pulled a 12K 5th wheel up long steep grades. The factory gauge temp would stay on N and O on level and rolling hills. On long steep grades would shoot up to about the A and would immediately drop to the N when you topped the grade. The less you stayed in the fuel the lower the temp would...

    E250 Camper Floor Plan

12V has a fairly large amp draw. Full time use at 12V can be very hard on your batteries. My 3-way frig has a 30A fuse protecting the 12V circuit. I use 12V only while I am towing my trailer and that is only because I have the frig intake vent mounted in the front of the trailer and I am worried...

    E250 Camper Floor Plan

Looks interesting. I have always thought a couch with a back that folds up into bunks is a good alternative to a large bed. Saves a lot of space when you are alone an provides a good place to relax when not used as bed. It will be similiar in size to submarine bunks which I am very familiar...

Still in the IDI World for a Short While Longer

Got it all installed finally yesterday. Did the first test run and all seems good so far. Did a couple of really hard acceleration runs and the temp never got above the "N" on the factory gauge. Still need to pull a horse trailer up the hill leaving my house. That will tell the true story about...

Still in the IDI World for a Short While Longer

Water pump will have to come later. It is a motorcraft pump that has maybe 20K on it. Hopefully it will last quite a while longer.

Still in the IDI World for a Short While Longer

Got the thread adapter. Radiator and new fan clutch are installed. It went very smoothly. Only thing I had to do was modify one of the mounting brackets to clear my intercooler pipes. The radiator is nice looking and straight. I was very pleased with the quality after inspection. There was no...

Heater Hose Fitting for Champion Radiator

After further checking, I think it is M16 x 1.5 (male) to 3/8" NPT (female) Thread Adapter. Can anyone confirm this? If so you can get them at http://www.threadtoolsupply.com/aluminum-thread-adapter-m16-38npt.html

Still in the IDI World for a Short While Longer

Hello guys! It's been a long time since I posted here. Some may remember I went to Dodge about 3 years ago for hauling of my 4 horse trailers. Several reasons why I made the swap and it has made the difference I wanted. I still have my IDI for now, but it will go to my youngest son in a few...

    Bleeding Clutch Slave Cylinder.

I've primed rebuilts before using a drill motor connected to the oil pump shaft to pump the oil through the engine. Of course that was on engines where the pump was turned by the distributor off the cam.

    Bleeding Clutch Slave Cylinder.

It wasn't that hard really. With the low air pressure and I was standing at the MC watching it go down. It went down pretty slow. I would stop occasionally and see if fluid was running into my catch can and when I saw it in the can I was done. Real easy way to do it. Thanks again for the...

    Bleeding Clutch Slave Cylinder.

You gave me an idea today. Working on '84 SR5 4x4. Replaced clutch master and slave. Didn't have any help to bleed them. Saw your post and said I can do something similiar with air. I set my air compressor at 10psi and pressurized the MC with air and force bled through the bleeder on the slave...

I need some fresh ideas or.... I'm buying a new truck.

I looked at the medium duties also. Found a Freightliner w/Cat and 9spd Eaton in Wash. Good price, low miles and a expense paid trip out there to pick it up but talked myself out of it because it was extended cab and not CC.

I need some fresh ideas or.... I'm buying a new truck.

I know how you feel. I have not regretted buying the Dodge. The 6.7 CTD has awesome power and it will stop like no pickup I ever had! Love the manual shift 6-spd auto w/tow haul and exhaust brake. All together it turns a haulin trip into a breeze. Sometimes forget I have 12-14,000# hooked.

I am up to 6 cars/trucks, 31' 5'er, 3 horse trailers, 20' flat bed GN and 2 small BP trailers now. I need to thin out the herd. I cannot drive them all and I'm getting insurance poor. I hate paying insurance! '93 F350 CC DRW 7.3, Hi-Mod E40D, 2WD 4.10, <200,000 miles (I'll have to check for...
