The Duramax is a diesel design right from the get-go. Isuzu/GM partnership. The 6.2/6.5 are also diesel designs Detroit Diesel/GM partnership. The 5.7 diesel was the gas-conversion job.
I agree with Towcat. Titles are one thing, but keeping both the Title and the Vin tags??? Bet good beer that there is a lien on it and they're out to rape the lienholder (usually a bank).
Yep... Urban mining.... Idiots with sawzalls. zip zip and away they go with the cat.... and you have a big hole in the exhaust system. It was a problem awhile back, but now it seems to have kinda faded out. Not sure on the coasts though.

They're still pretty upright for having hit a washout.... so whats...
No, The B-series Cummins is a parent-bore engine. No sleeves/liners at all in it. If the bores are damaged, then they can be bored over and the appropriate oversize pistons and rings installed.
The C-series and up are all sleeved engines.
I beleive the IS* series of engines still stayed...
Also have you noticed if the hubs/drums are getting hot??? Im thinking that the brakes are hanging up and producing the squeek, however the drums/hubs should be on the hot side as well. If thats the case, the adjusters are too tight, back them out and readjust properly. With your hard...
Quick rule of thumb on diesels is that if you can't accelerate in the gear you're in, you're lugging it- drop a gear and kick up the rpms.
1200-1800 is the ideal (economic) cruise range IMHO for the 1st and 2nd Gen. 12-valves. The 2nd and 3rd gen. 24 valves are a different story, longer...
LOL LOL I love that site, always browse it for the EMD and Alco Gensets. ya know, one of those if I have money and my own ranch out West deals.. I'll have a big genset too. ;Really
In all actuality, I just cruise it to see what the engine market is doing. :flush

Way off topic considering its a car, but I drive a Mustang with Bridgestone Blizzak WS-60 winter tires on it, and I wouldnt drive anything else in the snow. Mine is an '06 with the V6 and traction control (manual tranny). Basically you have to be an idiot to put the car into the ditch. Does...
I remember reading a whole crap-load of information somewhere regarding just the 53 issue blocks. If I can find it again, I'll post the link. Basically Whitmore pretty much covered the high-points of the issue though! The issue never affected Mexican cast blocks but unfortunately, they are in...
I've always wondered what it would take to put a onboard setup into a pickup. LOL LOL Kussmaul Auto-ejects are a standard option pretty much on Seagrave.... customer picks what they want on (air, battery, block heater, etc.).
On my next truck, I have planned to go the aftermarket...
What is it with the 'Nam vets and having batteries blow up in thier faces? LOL LOL My Dad had one do that to him.... thankfully he had safety glasses on (everybody thought he was crazy) and he walked away.... more like dragged and thrown into the emergency shower. Uniform didnt survive...
Little info to help you out with.
2500s with auto trans... Dana 70
2500s with manual trans.... Dana 80 (woo hoo!!!) ;Really LOL
All 3500s.... Dana 80.
All Danas in the Dodges are 35 spline.
As for the F40s.... they may look badass.... but they're loud as hell in the cab, ride rough, and usually hot inside too--- one of the quirks of full-cowl carbody style units. Although I'd probably take one of those over the GE toasters these days for better throttle response (F40 is an...
LOL LOL
sle2115 beat me to it.... I've always had the best of luck with the biggest socket that will fit the inside of the cup... and tap it in that way. Been awhile since I've done freeze plugs....
94 is correct.... I didnt even notice the model year on the truck.
all modern day 3116s and 3126s are HUEI injected though, I think that change was in 97 or 98.
the 3116 is a GM only engine. CAT got around that by making the 3126 model. (same thing, just a different model number) so...
GSK3 or GSK4 Governor spring kits.... along with some sort of plate and bigger exhaust.
Get wicked and do the whole thing with twin turbos. ;Sweet ;Sweet
