Well if the only problem is a little bit of contact with the head that seems easily fixable(may require a hammer). The one thing I was not a fan of with the lift kit I did on my old danger ranger was the bolt provided were only grade 5. I would have felt a little better with a set of 8's.
So I have looked for and found quite a few body lift kits for our trucks. However, they all seem to say that they will not work with models with diesel engines. I can't really think of a valid reason for this other than possible the radiator size. I have done lift kits on gas vehicles before...
I have this same filler problem but not to get off subject I was curious about this 1/4 tank blues issue cause if it is was I think it is I believe my truck has this very problem on both tanks. Some explanation and help with that would be fantastic i would love to use all my fuel in the tanks.
Good morning fellow oil burners. I have been having an issue with my 92 F-350 that i know the cause but not the cure. Since I purchased the truck the belt has always squeaked on it and ran off track. So one day i decided I would change the belt, idler and tensioner pulleys. After doing that...
What all have you done fuel system wise on the pump and what egts were you running maxed out. That is crazy that you made almost 200 ponies on an NA engine!! Would have love to seen the real torque numbers!! Very impressed.
I do believe you would need the typical parts ie flywheel and clutch pack. Most vehicles are stamped the same so it should at the least have the areas ready to be cut out for all the clutch equipment required. I dont know if all set ups have them but my ZF5 has a hydraulic clutch which would...
The problem might not be visible from the top side of the head unfortunately. Obviously blue/white smoke indicated oil burnin or runnin lean condition. There is a way to remove valve springs without removing the head. you could remove those and get them checked if you dont have the tool to...
I will tell you what it sounds like to me and I will tell you this is from experience with a totally different engine but sounds are quite similar. Thankfull being in the military as a diesel mech i get to work on a lot of different stuff. I had just replaced the head gaskets on a 903 cummins...
I would be inclined to agree with you. Although the heater would just prevent the gellin of the fuel in the filter housing and do nothing for the fuel in the lines. I will keep mine in working order just on the off chance Oklahoma gets hit with another record setting blizzard.
If you have p ullapart junk yard in your area they are a pretty goodsource for parts for our trucks and they are very affordable just have to pull the part yourself.
It is the oring and actually a quad oring. Have a fleet of trucks at work with this problem and we had a quad oring kit in our parts room. Replaced the old ones and havent had any trouble since.
I have been a victim of this same thing. Power to cycle the plugs and turn on acces. but once you turn the key to the start position all is lost. My problem a simple bad connection with the terminal clamps and wires. Unfortunately the last person to own my truck put on the crappy clamp down...
Hypermax does have excellent customer service. I am a mechanic in the navy and we still have some IDI's floatin around and they wanted some more power out of her so I got a price quote and ordered it. Fantastic and swift costumer service and shipping. Just wish I could have slipped an extra...
As restrictive as the stock are intake system is it isn't get much air. Yes if you want to duct up some type of ram air that would be great but I got creative with my stock air cleaner housing removing the fish bowl and cutting out the sides essentially making it a base and lid set up for the...
I replaced the return line kit on mine because i was having a starting problem and they were leaking. They are not leaking now but still have the issue it looks like the injection pump itself is leaking around the advance mechanism. I only have a problem with studdering in that rpm range when...
No problem at all. After I found that manual and read through it I am seriously considering rebuilding a used pump because of the ease the manual breaks it down to.
Here is the link for the Stanadyne manual for the DB2 it is 48 pages so you aren't missin much. http://www.stanadyne.com/dealerportal/ssi/english/Product%20Manual/99009.pdf
Alright so being a navy SeaBee diesel mechanic we always teach our operators to do a 3 to 5 minute cool down on all our diesel equipment of course main the turbocharged equipment. So I have been trying to find a turbo timer that will fit my 92 although not turboed yet the owners manual does...
