No throttle response in an Excursion

No, I'll do the shocks and differential and "phantom" brake light myself. myself. It can't be that hard. BTW, I'm on Cape Cod and beware, everyone jacks their prices during tourist season. This may have been beyond the call of duty however.

Banging inside of the air intake manifold?

Thanks for the reply. I thought of that and took a look, couldn't see any debris. Besides, it really sounds like something is actually hammering on the manifold from the inside. I know mice couldn't do that - it's that no thumb thing on those little critters.

Banging inside of the air intake manifold?

This isn't really a Ford truck question but maybe someone can help me out and shed some light on my (my son's) problem. He inherited his grandmother's 1995 Mercury Sable 3.8 V-6 with only 80,000 miles. Yesterday a severe banging noise seemed to be coming from within the air intake manifold...

    Fuel Guage gone wacky

Thanks for the info. In fact it was ULSD. I haven't had any problem as the fuel is used, in fact for the next 2 fill-ups everything seems to be normal. I guess only time will tell.

    Fuel Guage gone wacky

Yesterday I stopped and pumped 45.544 gallons of diesel into my 2003 7.3 Excursion. After starting up the engine, the fuel guage move moved to 1/8 of the way from empty stayed there for about 5 minutes. The low fuel alarm then came on and it completely shut off, the needle was pointing to the...

    mileage?

This probbly isn't exactly the response that you were looking for but it may be interestomg to some. I have a 7.3 litre Excursion with 77,000 miles- all stock. About 3 weeks ago drove from Port Huron, MI to Cape Cod, MA, about 719 miles. I was pulling a Mercury Sable sedan with a front end...

    76823 Miles . . .

Is that just about the expeceted life span for original upper and lower ball joints, brake pads and rotors on a 2003 Excursion? Thanks in advance.

    Rumble

I've developed a rumble on my '03 stock Excursion with 69,000 miles on the odometer. It only happens between 55 and 68 MPH and only opon acceleration. When I let off the pedal at it goes away. It sounds like it is coming from up front either or toward the middle of the vehicle. Not only can I...

Climate Control on a 2003 Excursion

For the past two days my climate control has been completely dead, although the fan kept blowing on high heat. None of the controls worked and neither did the LED's. (Of course the temperature was in the 70's for the first time this year). Fuses were all OK and secure. Today I started it up...

    Ford wants my truck

Toyota (at least the local stealership and you all know how that virus will spread) is now getting into the same buy back game - next door neighbor just got his letter. His pickup truck is only 2 years old.

    Plastic "Powerstroke" cover doodad?

I could have sworn the dealer told me that if I bought that part for 45K he would throw in the truck for free. Well, maybe I'm wrong.

    Looking at an Excursion

I have a Eddie Bauer 2003 7.3 litre, 65,000 miles without any problems - knock on wood. I never did anything with the suspension because after all, it's a truck. If I wanted better ride and road handling I would buy a Porche. But you can't drag along almost the entire high school basketball...

    Fuel Filter

Thanks everyone - I replaced the screw on top with an OEM one and it works fine. What I had was some type of aftermarket filter that was indeed one piece.
