    Where's the Clutch Switch on a 92'

The answer is.... Why was I looking for the clutch switch anyhow...I was trying to revive the cruise control. I was so cranked about the success I had rehabing the A/C ( thanks to all for the help ) that I figured I'd just keep going. So the PO had jumpered the connector from the missing...

    Where's the Clutch Switch on a 92'

Thanks! I've always liked the fact that I didn't need to press in the clutch to start the truck. Now I know why ! Can only imagine the fun that would come out of having it start up in gear ! Just swapped out my worn out clutch linkage parts, no electrical parts found on the clutch rod...

    Where's the Clutch Switch on a 92'

Trying to troubleshoot the cruise control on my 92'. First thing I tried to verify was that the clutch switch is operational ( as per the manual ). I can't seem to find the dang thing ! I've look all over the clutch pedal and mount. Only "switch" I see is on the brake pedal...one electrical and...

Starting My A/C conversion to R-134A

The big chill... Flushed everything except the condensor ( just lazy ), but I did blow a bunch of dry air through it. Drained the Compressor , maybe a tablespoon of oil in there. Changed all the o-rings, new accumulator and a severe duty VOV from NAPA. Pumped the system down overnight, verified...

Starting My A/C conversion to R-134A

I flipped the compressor over and rotated it by hand...just a few drops came out. I'm trying to figure out if the oil went somewhere else...or maybe I just can't drain the compressor this way. I guess I'm worried that if I add R-134 compatable oil without removing the mineral oil I'll wind up...

Starting My A/C conversion to R-134A

So far I know I should... Flush the system, lines and coils...bought a can of "clean & Flush" from Auto zone. Do I need to remove the Condensor and Evaporator Coils for this, or can it be done in place ? Replace the Accumulator/drier, pretty straightforward, any difference in brands ...

DIY R-12 to R-134 conversion Any advice on a DIY conversion ? I understand that the system needs to be flushed to get rid of the old oil...and maybe some seal changes ?

    Oil Drain Plug Sizes ?

"it's just marking it's territory"...that's what I tell my friends when I park my "new to me" '92 F-250 7.3 IDI in their driveways. Nobody seems to appreciate the free concrete lube though. So with that in mind I've been trying to stop the leaks...my oil cooler adventures are detailed in...

Oil Cooler Fixed? Oil in Coolant now!

Problem Found Just for the record... I case anybody reads this in the future Before I removed the oil cooler I wanted to see if I could tell what was going on here. I removed the oil filter and oil pan drain plug. Then I pressurized the cooling system with a few PSI and saw coolant coming...

Water in Oil vs. Oil in Water (Diesel Newbie)

I picked up a combustion gas test kit and compression tester from NAPA yesterday. Also borrowed a radiator pressure tester from Autozone. I'm trying to see just how bad things are before I fire it up again though. I hope I didn't screw things up too bad already by running it with a quart of...

Water in Oil vs. Oil in Water (Diesel Newbie)

Actually I have both in my '92 7.3 . I have not been able to find any sort of diagram that shows the flow circuits for the coolant and oil, or where they could possibly leak into each other. So I'm trying to formulate a game plan to find the source of the leaks. Maybe some of the "experts"...

Can a blow head gasket introduce oil into coolant system?

So, How did all this turn out? What you've described is very similar to what I'm seeing on my '92 7.3. I had just repaired the oil cooler and then noticed "steam" coming from the dipstick tube and Oil filler as your video showed. Lots of good tips to chase down here, but I'm wondering what...

Oil Cooler Fixed? Oil in Coolant now!

The o-rings I used were from Ford, but I'll double check the part #'s. The gaskets were FelPro from NAPA. I did not use a whole bunch of lube...only enough for a light coating on the o-rings to slip them on the tube. The whole assembly pressed together pretty easily using a large "Bar-Clamp"...

Oil Cooler Fixed? Oil in Coolant now!

Howdy, I decided to fix the leaking oil cooler on my "new to me" '92 F250 7.3 IDI. That went pretty well, not too hard to get out, cleaned everything up, new gaskets, 4 new o-rings...no more oil leak ! Now the bad news...After the cooler fix I noticed a little grey sludge on the...
