Thanks Hesutton, I have no idea what will replace this one. I look at owning an idi is like farming, it's always in your blood. The more we try to work it out of oursleves, the stronger the desire becomes.
No, I'm in Grand Rapids MN, it must have been somebody else that your thinking of. I'm sure in the future I'll be picking up an other one. I had fun with this one, but for now I'm going to concentrate on finishing up school, and finding a good job.
It's slowly getting up there, I have a reserve on it so I don't have to sell it for anything under that.
Did you guys get snow in Florida this year? Ours is just about gone finally.
I shouldn't say getting rid of it, just moving on. It's been a good ride, I learned quite a bit about diesels that I had no idea of before. All thanks to you guys. I don't know if it's allowed on this forum, or if I should post something in marketplace. It's on ebay if anyones interested. 1988...
I remember reading a post on here, or the other site, about a guy expirencing a runaway situation on his rig. He panicked and called 911. I could only imagine what was going through the operators mind when they received that call...
I slipped my old one off with a little persuasion from a punch and 16 oz. hammer. The new one pretty much slipped right on with a few little taps. It was a lot easier then I thought it was going to be.
If you want to work on machines, you need logical troubleshooting skills......
and seeing how your so quick to beat an engine to death, you might as well get to be a good mechanic.
You'll learn something new everyday....
Mine is 7500 pounds with about 20 gallons of fuel in it. You'll see a difference between the 250's and 350's. The o.p is a 350 so I would think that it should be a little heavier. I'm not sure how much heavier my flat bed is compared to a factory one.
It's funny, I did the same thing to my truck a couple of weeks ago. I guess I should have posted it, then I would've been the hero.LOL It feels like I have twice the power. It would take me damn near a mile to get up to 60, I figured the i.p or the fuel pump was going out. Then I crimped a lead...
I don't think the o.p said anything about how heavy the trailer was that he was pulling. I tried looking up the weight of my wife's horse trailer online and couldn't find anything, it's a 3 horse slant load, with tack room. I'm to lazy to go out right now and look at the tag. Anyways, with one...
I just prop my cups on the floor behind the stick, and leaning against the seat. I've only dumped it 3 times!!! Someday I'll buy one of those organizer thingy's that lay on the seat. That way I'll have a place to lean my arm up against.
Ya me too, I bought one that your suppose to turn around and use on the front. Well, it doesn't fit the dana 60, it's to small. So now I have to go out and buy one for the front before I do any work on it.:flipa
Pull your steering wheel off, grab a screw driver, and hammer. Smash in the tabs that lock the steering wheel. You should be able to hit it hard enough to slide that rod up and turn on your ignition. I have a push button start on my truck, but you could ground out the seleniod to start it.LOL...
Thanks, now you got me dreaming again. That Hypermax one that I was bidding on a couple of weeks ago went for $550. I thought that would've been a good deal, there will be more in the near future.
Your getting better millage by changing your o-rings and return lines? I did mine today, hopefully I'll see some improvements, but I don't see how this is.:dunno
Like towcat said, just the turbo is worth that. I look at it this way. If you look at the speedometer, brand new there $350, factory tack's are $180. Things can add up fast. I know that you can buy a whole cluster on ebay for $30 but I was just giving some examples. More then likely it would...
