I am having the same problem. I have a manual tranny and got the pipe on on the driver side. It fit horribly and developed a big exhaust leak on the turbo side. The pipe also rattles against the cab and drives me crazy!!
At idle and not under a load. Strangely when i'm turning left it worsens. The down pipe is touching the firewall but the hot pipe is like being crushed by the cab as well.
I recently installed a non-waste gated banks turbo on my 1990 7.3l. After the installation was complete a grinding or very strong vibration rattles the truck. i don't know if it is the turbo going out or just something rattling around. Any help appreciated...
So i have an old banks turbo set up in my garage and i look at it everyday wanting to put it in. How hard is it really to put it? I mean i no some things about wrenching but i am no mechanic.
Thanks
These old idi's are not as slow as some people think. People call them turds but when my non-turbo 7.3 pulled up to my buddies old 12 valve cummins and we raced that thing was no turd. Lets just say i thought less of cummins for that day.
I am also 17 and a new idi owner. I have turned up the pump a few and am still hoping that the engine is not going to burn down. I have the pyro sitting in my garage and it is going to be a good day when i can just look up at a pyro instead of freaking out over a melted piston.
I just purchased the older non-wastegated banks turbo and was wondering if any one has the installation manual? Also if any one has put one of these in can you tell me if i have to relocate the gp controller? thank you.
My friend just bought a 1991 dodge cummins and the engine has a miss but only when the engine is warm. What could be causing this?Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
