I do about 4hr road trips in my 92 f350 back home and to off road parks. Trans runs at about 170 up until the last 1.5hrs then it's at 200 or 207 whether I'm towing or not. Engine runs at about 200. Are those trams temps too hot or are they good? Has am e4od.

Thanks

^^^All good points above. I wouldn't worry too much about those temps. My 6.7 psd transmission always runs at 200-210 at a daily basis. Did that new with 30 miles on odometer from dealership, now over 100k and runs same temps.
Servicing the transmission may help some, and if you don't have an oil cooler, adding one will certainly increase the life of transmission.

Those are great trans temps,if measured at the test port.170-180 range is pretty much perfect.Any lower and the fluid wont flow as smooth, wont burn off condensation as well and much higher than 225F the oil starts breaking down too quickly.
That said,if it gets up to 200F eventually while running empty,it would probably creep up over 225F towing max gross too.
I like the tru-cool with thermal bypass. It reaches like 180F (sender at test port) and pretty much just stays there no matter what I'm doing with the truck.
