That looks like the one I bought for my oil drain. There are a couple different lengths available. Think I ended up with a Dorman replacement from Amazon.

sound deadening

I started working on the interior, and the sound deadening.

I have everything torn out of the cab, and I bought a bunch of sound deadening, 144sqft to be exact. Based on a bunch of research, i went with this stuff.

The reason is, this is most focused on sound blocking, vs some of the other brands that are trying to be heat blocker / echo reducer / sound blocking all in one

.
Rob, what material did you use? This shows as a dead link.

I bought two packs of Noico 80 Mil X 72 Sq Ft. Total cost was 241.20.

looks like Amazon only sells 10sqf bundles now. But eBay has the larger bundles @ a similar price point.

Also, it looks like they changed it slightly. The foil on mine is in a grid pattern. Now it's a diamond pattern.

I have some left if you wanted a small square to see what it's like.

I was looking at that. I think if you click on it there are options for different sizes. You seem happy with it. Any adverse smells etc.? Would you use it again? The frost king stuff is about 1.33 per sq ft. Fatmat ends up being a little over 2 per sq ft. The noico can be had in a 36 sq ft pack at like 1.77 a sq. Or 1.68 a sq for 72. Seems like for my truck a 36 would do the floor. Since I already put the bedliner down I don't think I need 2 layers. I'll probably get the heavy pad on the carpet too. I'm hoping to get exhaust on it this weekend to get a real baseline. With just the down pipe on it I don't care what you do it's going to be loud.

No smell at all, and yes I'd buy it again.

My main reason for getting it was, at the time it was the most mass per sqft I could find. And way less $ than dynomat.

Here is a pic of 1sqft folded up on the scale. Just under 14 ounces, nearly a pound.

Dynomat does some really cool engineering with the soft surfaces integrated into it. But I wanted the sound blocking mass. I figured the interior provides a decent amount of soft surfaces.

Just picked up 72 sq feet for $100 with coupon from ebay. That ought to get me started.

When it gets here, You'll be surprised just how heavy that flat little box is! I used a wallpaper roller to install it in certain areas. Not a requirement, but it did make it a little easier in a spot or two

Ok, back to the rusty rockers on the cab. As much as I'd like to blame the salt, I think this is my main issue.

The sealer in the drip rails has failed pretty bad on both sides. I only noticed after a wet spot in the headliner appeared after several days of rain. Looks like I caught this whole situation just in time.

Rockers arrived today, seam sealer and various other odds and ends on order.

Did you get the weld through primer? On your drip rails, I'd clean it out treat any rust and then epoxy prime. Put the sealer in and then prime end paint. But that's just me.

Wire wheel on a drill or grinder does a good job cleaning it out. FYI

IMO, I would be cutting the drip rail completely off.
and welding 3/8 or less round rod in its place.
makes it a lot cleaner, and deletes the seam, which means nowhere for moisture to get into (hopefully)
