I'd say so man. You don't have anything else in front of the radiator that carries oil.

the results are in for the compression test. just so you all know this was done on a cold motor. with that in mind the results were ok in my opinion.

I have seen people on here say that warm doesn't make a huge difference. In my very limited experience, I'd say that one is getting tired. Iirc, Gary posted at some point that his fresh rebuild was over 400 pushing 500. I've got a thread somewhere and the numbers on one of my engines were pretty similar to what you got. I seem to remember the consensus was she was tired. I'll see if I can find that.

after reading your post is seems we had similar numbers. from what oldbull posted it is still within a reasonable spec. since all of the numbers were close I guess it will be good for a while.

I'm sure it will probably run a long time. If you notice the numbers on the second engine, you'll see what a bad one looks like. No wonder I had a hard time getting that one running.

I pulled the radiator out and noticed some oily spots on the fins that have collected dirt. could this be from the condenser weeping oil? I replaced it a few years ago but maybe I need a better one. any other ideas?

Are you sure it's not antifreeze weeping from the plastic tank seam? It gets sticky too when you boil off all the water but it would probably wash off fairly easy.

Il see what happens when I pressure wash it. It just seems weird for that to happen. It has even made the fan a little slimy.

I took apart the cooler from my extra motor I have. it looks to be in pretty good shape. the outside is a little more rusty but the insides are much cleaner.

what is the difference in the turbo coolers? this wasn't a turbo block but it was a 93 or 94 year so I was curious if it could be a turbo cooler.

Difference is cooling fins per inch. Turbo has more. I had to rod out my oil cooler. I had several blocked or partially blocked tubes. Some with rtv, some with hard rock like stuff.

ok so I pulled the motor out this morning and got it all torn down. I noticed there were valve indents on every piston. not something I wanted to see.

im not really sure what to do at this point. I don't really want to put it back together like that.

I don't think the heads have been rebuilt so im not sure of the cause. any info or help would be great, im at a stop for now.

il post some pictures soon.

these are the two heads. it seems the intake valve was hitting the most. the exhaust valves left some good indents also but maybe they don't hit as often.

here are the two that are at the top. these have some ruff stuff towards the top. does that mean they got too hot?

here are the rest, these seem to have more of the erosion at the tops. you can see pretty clearly where the valves are hitting.
