I plan on replacing my fuel system when I finish resealing and installing my engine...I talked to Mel on Tuesday about it and I'm planning on a Bull Moose and Moose Misters. A buddy of mine is a big R&D fan but I still lean towards Conestoga. I'm just curious if anyone has ran a bull moose and R&D like 90-110 cc pump and what the pros and cons were. If I remember I believe Mel and the guy from R&D are on here unless R&D is on another forum...can't remember...anyways any advice is appreciated. I still lean towards Conestoga tho...:flipa

Honestly we should not discuss competing vendors on this forum, it should be kept to a repair forum.

A discussion of competing vendors should be done in the Lounge forum.

Just my opinion.

And considering one is banned and not a site vendor.
I've been jumped on on other forums for recommending someone buy something from Amazon because it's cheaper than any vendor/site sponsor.

But if you were to search, you'll find the info you look for.

I think you are going to find people in one camp or the other, simply because most people don't have the extra money to buy a pump from both and test.

There was a topic recently where I and others went over the different vendors, there was quite a bit of good info. I know it had "6.9" in the title.

My personal experience is that I've got a RD2-110 pump from R&D, and I've gotten 245-ish RWHP out of it with a stock turbo and fuel to spare(Note: repeatable results within 5 hp across 2 different trucks, 3 different dynos, at 3 different times). It's rated at 300 RWHP, which is probably realistic, given a turbo which can flow enough air.

I have no experience with the Moose pumps, and I haven't found any good dyno results to post.

R and d 90cc and stage one injectors from r and d are working well for me. I would say both are great vendors and have been very helpful to me I wouldn't see an issue in whatever products you choose. If you search the forums I'm sure someone had dyno'd a moose pump and injector truck but all vehicles will vary based on turbo systems, condition engine auto vs manual, etc. I don't think you can lose in either choice of products!

This year it will be time for me to replace my pump and I'll be going with a Moose variant. I'm not looking for performance, just a superior product and reliability. When I first inquired about a year ago Mel spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me detailing the differences in pumps, my configuration, and application. That one phone call from over a year ago closed the deal for me.

Asking this, is the same as asking Coke vs Pepsi....

At the end of the day, they are both a sugary carbonated soft drink, but some people will say one is better than the other, but they will both rot your teeth equally ;)

That being said, I think you will get a great product no matter who you go with. I have seen people have trouble with both, and I have seen both vendors stand behind their products.

I have an R&D modified exhaust elbow, transaction was smooth and quality product.

I have ordered isspro gauges from Mel, transaction was smooth, and just as stated above Mel took the time to talk to me on the phone about what gauges would be best for my application when I was torn between which ones were most important to monitor.

Tell your buddy that if he thinks that one is so much better than the other, then he should prove it by buying you one too. But really, unless he's going to do that, then you should put your money where YOU want it to go. They both make good products from the reading I've done.

Mel did spend a good 30 minutes on the phone with me as well discussing pumps. I've been doing as much research as I can to figure out everything I need to do to this thing while its apart and what the best parts for it are.

Now that I think about it, I agree with OLDBULL8,I guess I should have thought about that before I posted...

Thank yall for all of yall's input.

I run the Bull Moose under the hood of my commercial chip truck.
Chip Truck w/ Specs & Mods
I count on my truck to get to my jobs and back home with no fuss.
I know the professionalism of CDI/Mel and his staff can be counted on.This is why I chose the Moose line of products and the reason I enjoy sharing with discounts through his company.Great folks.High quality products. It's not just a question if my truck is going to work, with the Moose under the hood,I can be confident it will.;Sweet

I had a bad experience (my one and only transaction) with CDI so my next purchase will be from R&D, and I will give them a go. I have a long memory.

Moose pump and injectors. Been using them for close to 10 years now. Wouldn't put anyone else's IP on my IDI.

Like posted above, Justin was banned from OB a while ago (for good reason).

I've dealt with both vendors. Cdi a turbo with wicked wheel, moose pump and moose misters. R&D a cam, intake, s257x turbo, 3" dp, head studs

Cdi is great about answering the phone and even took a ride to listen to my truck when I thought it was getting a diesel knock with the moose pump. The reman turbo I purchase from them was rebuilt with a broken backing plate and caused a big boost and oil leak despite Mel telling me it would be fine. The moose misters and pump I received from them were great

Justin can be a little hard to get ahold of but he's very knowledgeable and helped me with everything getting the replacement turbo fitted. The turbo I received there required a little clearancing to work with my water intercooler setup but I was warned before I purchased it. It was a very well built product where he modified the 093 housing to accept the bw257 turbo in a stock location.

Type4 / Russ on here is excellent to do business with as well.

I've seen Russ on the forums..haven't really figured out who he is/what he does exactly. Shawn, how did you like the wicked wheel? Thinking about putting one in the factory turbo I got for my 85'.

I appreciate everyone's input...helped me solidify my decision!

He da man wit a plan! LOL

Turbos, injectors, IP. He got the goods! ;Really

He can rebuild that turbo and install the wicked wheel. He'll be rebuilding my 085 w/ wheel mod soon! He's on vacation until like the 9th I believe.
