All my timing meters are having issues. I will be sending then in for repairs soon. So until I get them back I won't be doing the meter rental. Very sorry about this. Doubly sad is these meters are shipped fully working. But come back with display lights burned out. Seems something is happening in the shipping because they arrive with burned out digital displays. Several have come back with loose or completely backed out screws in the boards. So they are getting some vibration somehow.

Gary, sorry to hear that. Hope they can be fixed and not cost an arm and a leg.

I have a spare red readout if you feel like you need it.

Thanks Brian. My display readouts are all digital. I'm not sure if they can be changed out one by one or the complete circuit board needs to be changed. Your red display is only going to work on those j33300 meters with the same red display.

Keep me posted about renting. I'll look for another way to get the truck timed up in the mean time.

Y'know, if it's going to cost too much to fix, I'd be interesting at fixing one myself. I've done plenty of soldering work, and chances are I can probably find/rig a new display(LED or LCD, not sure what's on your meter) if I need to...

Gary, sorry to hear about the meter problems. Your meter rental program is a real asset to the IDI community, so I hope the meters can be fixed without breaking the bank.

What kind of cases are you using to ship them in?

I use the medium flat rate box the post office supplies free. Inside this box the meter case is well padded and inside the case I use several shop rags to cushion everything so there is no movement of the tools. Best I can think is being in the back of a truck semi trailer going from the west coast to east coast they are subject to road vibration of some sort.Just a wild ass guess really.

Let alone shipping bouncing around, think of the age of these things.
I have a cobra 25 ltd classic made in 2000, several of the legs on the lcd screen have gone out.

Where about you located. I'm around the lake Erie area, well that's the closest bigger city.
Farmer frank is out that way, he might be able to help you out. I am near philly. But I know we got Meters in Scranton, Lancaster, and just north of Pittsburg
