title says it all. I'm looking at buying a 1985 6.9 that has a Titaniuum Fass Fuel System in it. I'll be more than a little interested in this truck if I can use my WMO setup with it. But I'm wondering if the thicker fuel will wreak havoc with the upgraded fuel system? Any thoughts?

I havnt used one but on my 94 I had to use a holley blue pump and a fuel filter off a medium duty truck to get the flow required to keep the engine happy. I wanted to try a FASS pump but couldn't afford it at the time. I would think it will work fine but if it don't its a $600 pump!

Well, I went ahead and bought the truck. I think I'm gonna run straight diesel at least for a few months while I get to know ol' girl. Maybe this summer I'll start to slowly blend in some oil. I really can't imagine why it wouldn't work since all it really is is a lift pump/fuel heater/filter/water seperator. Filtering and heating the fuel can only help right? And as long as I do a proper job of cleaning the oil in the first place, I think it should be fine.

Agreed. My last truck ran great on 100% WMO, but I think I might even limit this one to a 50/50 blend. We'll see.

Once my truck warmed up the only limit on what I could burn is what I could pump. The engine would burn it fine but I could not get a reliable pump to keep up with much over a 50 / 50 WMO diesel mix.

Add a fuel pressure gage and add a little cleaned WMO at a time and you can watch and see your limits.

Odd... do you not use RUG to thin your wmo? I run a tank on the bed that is typically 85-90% wmo.. 10-15% gasoline. The carter oem replacement lift pump works just fine even when cool out.

To the OP... you can use a hydrometer and basically match the viscosity of your home brew to that of pump diesel. Thin the oil with gasoline or kerosene (I prefer gasoline as it takes less and is cheaper typically). Pump shouldn't have an issue at that point (as long as the oil is clean).
