As i was browsing the WWW to look get my self up to speed on diesel injectors types , codes and pop test tool . i cam across a diesel shop in Bitely MI by the name accurate diesel . They charge $29.95 for Testing all your 8 injectors ( pop pressure, leakage, chatter) and that includes shipping the set back , to good to be true ??? ;) MAYBE MAYBE NOT .. Has any one heard of them before .



Talked to the Tech/owner who sound very knowledgable of the IDI, he did not steer me any direction other than lets test them and see but due to the age and milage they won't be as efficient as with er the reman or the new. They are a power seller on e-bay . their web site offer a set of BB code ATS injectors for less than $200 ... SO i am scratching my head Since you cant't get 8 for less than $450 ...

I've heard that name before. I think maybe not in a good context, though I can't be any more specific that that.

Before you do business with any vendor I'd suggest that you read the OilBurners Hall of Shame. Forum members have done business with most of the vendors, and have found some who are not up to standard.

There is a reason I cant keep new injectors in stock.

They would probably pop test them and tell you they are all junk, hoping you would buy a "new" set from them. Then sell you back your old ones lol.

Not cheap out or cutting corners by any means I was extremely curious about how they are legitimate .

There is no other place to find the real truth but here

The problem really is that your injectors are almost certainly worn. Injectors don't last more than about 100K, period.

You do /not/ want to buy refurbished units, unless you /know/ they replace the pintle and seat(the actual wear parts).

Typ4 does, and idiperformance.com does.

I don't know of anyone else who does.

If you invest in a pressure tester, you can rebuild injectors yourself easily enough, you just have to get your hands on a set of new pintles and seats, or your newly 'matched' set won't stay that way for more than a few K miles.

I have checked the http://www.idiperformance.com in the past and considered their RD2-90 Injection pump , Honestly i totally forgot about them until you mentioned them, looking at their injectors but i could not find any feedback here on the RD2 pump if its paired with either of their stage one injectors or stock injectors .


This truck not my daily driver but when its in use it's either for hauling, Crusing long 1000 miles trips , heavy towing or occasional local trip to the lumber yard . SO trying to balance my choice of Pump and injectors . Never drove an IDI that had a well tuned Set of injectors / new pump to compare but am hoping to achieve that soon

I would run stock injectors. Better overall economy IMO.



There are some stanadynes on ebay. I will say I have had some issues with bad bodies on stanadynes, never on delphi.
Thats why I test EVERY injector before it leaves my hands.

I'm a believer. I've got a RD2-110 cc pump on one of my rigs, and I'm also using stage 1* injectors. Pretty happy with the combination over all, but it requires more air than /any/ stock-type turbo can provide... Though I've still gotten 248 RWHP(Probably something like 320+ at the crank, compared to 185 for a NA 7.3) ish out of a Sidewinder with that setup.

The RD2-90 should handle a stock-type turbo just fine, and you can always turn the fuel screw /down/ if you can't get the boost you need.

*Note:
I say stage 1 injectors, but in actuality I bought 8 stage-1 nozzles from R&D and built my own set.
As such, I've had a good look at the spray patterns(fairly consistent), closing characteristics(nice and positive) and chatter(None noticed).
After getting the pressures all matched and re-checked at like 5K, I checked them again at 20-ish K miles(two years); they had all worn evenly. I think the pressures were a little lower than I originally set them, but that's to be expected with any wearing mechanical part, and they were still at the high end of the range I set.

Uh... what?
A, the nozzles are /not/ delphi nozzles.
B, in my case, I /did/ have few PSI of drift at the beginning, but well within the +50-100 PSI spec for injectors.
And, after 20K miles, they were all nice and consistent pressure wise, which matters more than anything else IMHO.

Go for it. If the injectors are good, you'll be fine.

What kind of warenty they offer and do I have to send my OEM pump?
Not sure on the warranty(Contact them?), and IIRC there's a $100 core charge.
