well because of this rain, as everyone knows...(because its winter, imagine that)
I got stuck going through 3-4 feet of flooded road today while hitting the bar for a few drinks after "work"

no problem getting there, but I had to park on the curb because I didn't want to swim to the bar.
(more like a 1 foot retaining wall)

well I had a shot and a beer.

and my "designated driver" (im bi polar-ish) decided to grow a lead foot going out of the flood.

looked back, and saw a nice plume of black and white smoke.
was actually pretty odd.no more white smoke after about 200 feet.
so I get home and pop the hood, the top of the filter is completely dry and the bottom is still soaked.

accelerated hard under a load to see what I can see, and no further white smoke.
I hope the Donaldson filter, filtered all the microbacteria out of the water :D

gonna let it sit for 24 hrs and check the oil, just in case.

Running it hard might well have saved it from hydrolocking, due to being able to ingest more water due to more RPMs.

I do know that an idling IDI can take a garden hose worth of water into the intake without hydrolocking... did it once when I was really young. Nothing broke, failed or anything...

Sounds to me you need to put a snorkel kit on your intake and exhaust until the flooding stops. LOL

that is right there at the local launch, (to the left)
we are also in "king tide" mode.
plus all this water, this was actually taken when the water stopped coming over the levy.
supposed to be that high again today at 3 pm, gonna go capture some of it.
