First time poster and I'm not very good at navigating the threads so I apologize if this thread has been posted previously.

I have a 93 idi with an aftermarket garrett turbo on it with 260,000 miles. i recently got my hands on a 93-ford super duty dually with 60,000 miles that I’ll be picking up this weekend. my question is, is it possible/worth the time to do an axle swap from the super duty to my 250? I don’t want a dually rear end but its in such good shape that i would like to swap both the front and rear so when I start needing parts I don’t have all sorts of different models to have to remember. Any info is appreciated.
The reason for not wanting to keep the super duty like it is, is because it's a single cab rat infest dump truck.

Welcome to the forum... My guess is if in fact you are picking up a SUPERDUTY.
Then no. you wont be able to swap the complete differentials. the superduty is a 10 lug deal when what you now have is an 8 lug deal.

Thanks. I'll have to take a look at it once i get it picked up. I got the superduty to do a motor swap and figured if I could use the axles I would. I guess time will tell and if not I'll have some parts to sell.

parting out an f-super duty/f450 with 60k miles!
the rear axle is a dana 80 with super low gearing, not well suited for a pickup.would take a lot of modifications to put under a pickup and only be wide enough for srw if you could do it.

.....

The F-Super Duty 1987-97 (the original super duty prior to '99 pickups) was introduced to bridge the gap from the F350 to medium duty trucks. It was a commercial cab & chassis 2WD dually only optioned truck. They came with 460 gas engines all through the production run, with the optional 7.3l idi diesel engine from introduction through '94,then the optional 7.3l di (power stroke) diesel from '94.5 - '97.
Known at the time as the "One Ton Plus." It sports a HD frame, the hydroboost brake system w/ 4 wheel disc brakes.Though they are 2WD trucks, they are equipped with 4WD transmissions but, rather than a transfer case, they come with a drive line emergency/parking brake. A HD dana 80 rear axle that came from ford with gear ratio options intended for two purposes; heavy hauling & towing. They came in various wheelbase lengths with up to a 15,000 LB GVWR.It's widely known as the F-450 equivalent with many auto stores listing parts under either name.
These trucks are easy to spot with their pickup size cabs, yet unique F-Super Duty fender emblems & 10 lug wheels.
axle code 72 = 4.63
axle code 73 = 5.13
axle code G3 = 4.30 LS (iv only seen this code a couple times in ads on the door jam.both times the trucks were '97's)

Well I got the chance to look at the super duty today and realized it most certainly is a 10 lug patter on the axles so it looks like a motor swap is all i will do. Possibly turn this into a snow plow truck and make some money off it. Low miles but i imagine it probably has a bunch of idle hourson it.

It hasn't been started in probably a year + but the last time it did everything worked. it has a ton of packrat crap inside it and a nest in the dash, so I'm going to clean that up and check wiring before I attempt anything else. anything else I should pay special attention to from it sitting that long?
