That is a very cool car. Too bad its rusty. You probably already know this, but it has parts on it that will bring good money on fleabay. If the headlights and taillights are both in good shape they can bring a couple hundred bucks each!
Let us know if you start selling parts. I have a blue interior wagon, hint hint.

I actually have it advertised online and have not had 1 response now. it looks like it will go for scrpa after I get the powertrain out. I don't have tiem to part it out, or a place to put the parts even. I have all my storage stuffed right now.

was thinking of cutting the rad support and front frame end with lights etc and saving it, just because it makes the driveline removal easier, then remove the rear bumper and taillights, maybe the hatch because its clean. will keep the tires/wheels/hubcaps, might be able to squeeze them onto a ranger. had some ranger wheels on my 85 300D , not a correct fit but it worked:sly

respond to my ad if anybody interested. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars...0-td-wagon-euro-spec-collector-car/1215306205

Well my old email address can't be accessed so had to sign up again, name is almost the same..................

sold the wagon , delivered it only at 5 miles from my work where I had it stored. even passed some phone numbers onto the new owner of people who were looking to buy pieces off it. great sale >cash is always good, seller invited me to come see his car he is restoring sometime, was too busy to visit when I dropped the parts car off. was a really bad snow storm starting.

took a short video of the car running just before I ripped its heart out, then a couple pics of the aftermath. have to get the wife's explorer back on the road before I can rip into the ranger. right now its our backup vehicle as our VW jetta is virtually useless in any more than a few inches of snow. living in the snowbelt has its good and bad points.

I'll post the pics soon as I can get them off my camera, wife is helping me.

ok I'm back, couple pics of the powerplant donor, engine is inside now at work on a skid. sold the remnants of the car for $400 CA, guy was happy as *****. he is using the bumpers, headlites and some of the interior. he has a rust free low mile car that he is restoring .

will start on the ranger as soon as I get wife's explorer back on the road.

got the wife's explorer on the road and first trip out the starter died. just put a brand new bxt65 in it even.....:Q
Ranger is still her transport right now, can't tear it down yet. .

she is actually liking driving the ranger, turns out that what she wanted to buy when she lived in Toronto. she had to share apartment and vehicle with her older sister so they ended up with a Mazda hatchback. :kick:

she definitely hasn't been bored with all the different vehicles we've had since married. I think she might be stuck on the ranger when its done. LOL

Ranger hadn't been driven since Oct. and not used regularly since Aug. 2.9 uses as much fuel as my fullsize diesel van!

update> sold the 2.9 out of the ranger and in the process of pulling it out this weekend in the garage at home but been sick since thurs so an hour a day is about all I've done.
I'll be putting the 2.4MB diesel with the MB auto trans in it . will have to install the diesel at work as its still sitting on the skid where I left it. boss gives me a lot of freedom there, afternoon forehead has its perks I guess? I'll take soem pics of the bare engine bay before I start the swap. I'm thinking a shut off cable would be a great thing for the little diesel, it has a Vacuum shutoff now .

cheers James

finally got the ranger 2.9 ready to pull out but we've had freezing rain warning all weekend so its still in the garage. might try to pull it on monday with the loader tractor. motor looks tiny with all the accessories off it and the trans removed. almost looks liek to strong guys could lift it out by hand. back in my 20s I woudl have used a couple 2x6s and a chain and pulled it out by hand. old mechanics value their spinal cord more than young ones :peelout I lifted a 351C shortblock into the back hatch of my 86 golf and back out again when I was young and stupid:idiot::kick:

Hey Kiwi are those WLT's any good? Before I put a mitsubishi 4d55t into it, I was gonna import one of those for my 91 b2600i 4x4.

I wish we had more of the smaller diesels the rest of the world have here in the states...

Nice simple basic 1 wire needed to run engine right up until 2006.... as long as you don't cook them they are great.
Got one about to be in bits at the moment as the owner cooked it .... i'll post up some pics for you as i put another head on it.
