1989 k1500 305 timing cover
Update:2 I got my timing chain set from Jegs today. I has the 3 key way's. 4+-0-4-. I tow a small RV (2500lbs) Has anyone did the 4 Deg advanced cam timing? I remember some OEM GM cams had 4 DEG advance for chain stretch to start with. so 4 more DEG (6-8 deg total advance) may ping! 89 gas...- woolfmaster

Update: I looked at a oil pan gasket looks like the bottom timing cover seal is now part of the pan gasket? so it should stay when you take off the cover??- woolfmaster

1989 k1500 305 timing cover
Hello, I have a 1989 K1500 305 (150,000) and the timing chain is shot! Did the old Deg test it had more than the timing tag has Degs! I have done old 305 and 350 gm. Never a newer gm(last one 1978 305) . Is there a trick to taking off the timing cover? Don't want to replace the oil pan...- woolfmaster
