I'm actually more worried about the auto insurance companies than the government. Once self-driving cars are "mainstream", it'll just be a matter of time before auto insurance companies decide that "traditional" cars are too risky to maintain current insurance levels, and they'll either stop...- The Warden

To be fair, with how quickly they're trying to push self-driving cars down our collective throats, the other two pedals and the steering wheel are becoming an endangered species. Won't stop me from fighting both trends to the death, though. Now try doing it with a 40 foot charter bus :D- The Warden

Before reading this thread, I never thought I'd see someone defending the E4DOA :shocked: LOL I'll admit that I'd take an E4DOA over a C6, partially due to the overdrive gear and partially due to the torque converter lockup...but, I would only go E4DOA after spending a good chunk of change to...- The Warden

Welcome back! ;Sweet The front axle should be a Dana 60 since it's an F-350. The axle code will tell you what gearing it came from the factory with, although there's always the possibility that gears have been swapped.- The Warden

Flashback Friday, my first IDI.
My first indirect-injected diesel...Nissan SD-33T :D Purchased her in April 1999, had to sell her to a guy who parted her out in October 2000 after cracking a piston. My second indirect-injected diesel, and my first 6.9L. Bought her in October 2000 to replace the Scout; sold her in June 2002...- The Warden

Fuel Filter light - what does is measure?
I know you said you replaced the fuel filter and the injector pump, but did you replace the lift pump? If the filter's definitely happy, that'd be where I'd look next. What's the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the filter housing?- The Warden

Oil Pressure Gauge
There's a very real chance the problem's electrical as opposed to being an oil pressure problem. I would advise temporarily hooking up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to the same location and see if the oil pressure actually behaves like the factory gauge is saying it is. I've seen firsthand the effects of an intercooler on a 7.3L IDI with an ATS 093 kit. Towing temps boost pyrometer and gears
On the exhaust side, the big trouble spots are the exhaust manifold gaskets, the gaskets where the exhaust manifolds connect to the crossover pipes, and especially the slip fittings on the pipes going up from the crossover pipes to the exhaust housing "snail" on the turbo. As others have said, checking for leaks on both the intake and the exhaust side will help to make sure that you're getting the most out of your turbo. Any boost leak or any exhaust leak between the cylinder head and the turbo can adversely affect how the turbo builds up boost. An intercooler is...- The Warden

ALH Rebuild costs
I've never done a rebuild on an ALH, but as far as I know, they're pretty straightforward. One big thing to keep in mind is that that special tools are required for some parts of the rebuild, notably including the timing belt.
