Mpg what to expect
Engine is in great shape with an industrial injection IP and rebuilt injectors with new glow plugs and controller. Sounds great and doesn't smoke except if you completely floor it. It's been babied it's whole life but has towed. Driven by an old man most of its life.- tanman_2006

Mpg what to expect
I'm going to put 255/85s on the rear to reduce rpms a little bit but if I get 15-16 unloaded and 10-12 pulling a 16x6 bumper pull with 2-3 horses and a bed full of tack I'll be happy. I've got a wife and 2 kids with one on the way to squeeze in and my duramax is loaded up with tools and weighs...- tanman_2006

I'm guessing it has 4.10's. I won't be doing 70mph often mostly just going small town to small town. I only drive 60mph in my duramax. I'm not usually in a hurry- tanman_2006

Mpg what to expect
Looking at a 92 F350 Crew Cab long bed 2wd n/a with E4OD. Clean one owner truck paint is just faded. I'm not buying it expecting 20mpg but what mpg should I expect unloaded cruising and pulling say 6-8k horse trailer and tach? Mostly flat and rolling hills around here so I shouldn't need alot...- tanman_2006

Not sure where to post this: My buddy bought a 03 F350 was a 6.0 and now 5.9 VE w/ H1C turbo at an auction 6 months ago . why do you drive a idi?
First off I love both my Dmax's but its just not the same. My 6.5's pull just as good IMO and there is just something about hearing an idi engine crack off and rattle the walls in below freezing temps that is more satisfying than my dmax rumbling to life like it is 70 out. Well I'm getting less enthused about the Vin L swap due to possible tuning and issues. After some reading I have decided that we will wait for a Vin 5 and do a phaser lock out out and tune. Depends on how cold it gets where you live. Might not be needed so much if you only see brief cold snaps. I run 5/40 year-round w/ no issues.- tanman_2006

I run Mobile Delvac, Mobile 1, or Amsoil. All personal preference. I had the rotella drinking problem in my trucks, I switched to synthetic on most soon after.- tanman_2006
