Found the short in the wire. Thanks Jred.
Was just looking for the true reason that the gauge would peg out as I thought it would move to the other extreme.
Glad to hear that you are OK. The soreness will come, but we are all pulling for you. Let us know if we can help.
That brings you down to only one non-diesel in the house now.
Got back from vacation on Friday. Working on getting the tank back into the truck. Modified the sending unit for the larger tank and tested the sending unit while out of the tank. It reads in the acceptable ranges for empty and full. When I went to hook it up to the power on the truck, the...
Jeff,
You can get to both tanks very easily with the bed off. The midship tank is the easier tank to get to from under the truck. The rear tank just has the spare in the way along with two cross beams.
It was very tight to get the rear tank down, but I did it with the bed left on. Thanks for the words of wisdom everyone. I have added a piece of tubing and the tank will be going back in later today.
I made another attempt today, got the tank to drop further. But still not enough clearance. The filler hose seems to be holding it up. The hose clamp has the screw at top dead center so it is a bear to get a tool on it. Can the front of the tank drop 4" without breaking the fuel lines...
How far can you drop the rear tank to get to the fuel lines (to disconnect)?
I have removed the straps and fuel filler tube from the truck, started to drop the tank down, but stopped at about 2 inches. Still could not get clearly at the fuel line to disconnect.
Look for suggestions/precautions...

Brakes again
So I had a new vacuum pump ready to install. Decided to check pressure again with the old, (now it reads 20), Remove the old vacuum and install the new. Up to 23 and I have brakes again. ;Sweet
On order is a vacuum gauge from Isopro to install in my pod. Thanks Mel for the...
I thought you were building a spare garage at the MIL.
That was the impression you left about what all that extra digging was for to the basement (a drive-in):rotflmao
Well Joe,
We will keep an eye out for you as winning bidder. You could always store it over at my place. At least it would be not in the living room, not in the RV, and could be worked on in more space than the Chrysler trunk.:D
But EZ might even bail you out.:hail
Now when I went out and put the vacuum tester on the hose at the booster, it will only get to about 15 and it takes 30 seconds to climb up to that level.
I have a new pump that just arrived, I just need to get a P/S pulley puller or buy a new pulley.
What is the best way to get the pulley...
